'13 TN ATH Malik Foreman (UT signee)

Being from Compton doesn't make you a thug. You are stereotyping. I know that's not what you're trying to do, but you are. There have been some dirty white boys who wore the orange who would absolutely rip your head off and shat down your throat. Were they thugs? Or do you have to be from the hood?

No one was scared of the Raiders.. You don't make it in the NFL by being skeered of your opponents. The Raiders were just that good under Madden..

OK, hi-jack over.... Sorry, back to Malik..

The Raiders in the 70's won plenty of games because they had the mental advantage. Teams knew that they were walking into a dogfight, some of them couldn't take it for 4 qtrs. You win games in football by breaking the opponents will, on every level. the Oakland Raiders were experts at it. "Scared" might be another wrong term, i'm referring to when someone reaches their breaking point and they want to quit.

I wasn't an english major so try to compensate with me here.

I wasn't trying to stereotype. I was trying to say that kids that are brought up in that environment usually play with a "dog-like" attitude. There are plenty of white mountain boys that could do the same thing, trust me, i know. My Grandfathers and great uncles grew up in the dirt on Roan Mountain, Tennessee. They had some run ins with the law, but they were the toughest bastards you could meet.

That Malik Foreman..... Heck of an athlete.

Yep, like I said before, it's good to see someone from my old school moving up to my favorite school..

I really wish I had gone to more games this year but what I did see he was FUN to watch...

Frankly, some of DB's games were/are not very entertaining.. It's not fun to watch them beat people 70-0 (Sullivan Central every year).. I really wish they could arrange some out of conference games with some talented GA hi schools even if they were to lose.. IMO it would better prepare them for the playoffs.. They play MAYBE three really tough teams during the season.. It's not all their fault.. They have to play their conference and a couple of local rivalry games.. However I think it hurts them when they get to state and face much better talent..

Foreman:
Physique- he has a great lower body. He has a high butt and is pretty bow legged. He will hold good weight in his lower body. The one knock on him is he is narrow shouldered. That will prevent him from holding a lot of weight up top. I also think he is not quite 5'11, but relatively close. IMO he will play at 5'10 185 and still run the way he does.

Ability- he is burner. He has good balance and decent change of direction to go along with his sub 4.4 speed. He is great at high pointing the football whether on O or D. He is also surprising hard to tackle. And yes, his hips are very fluid. He will lock people down at CB, could have trouble with bigger WRs, but he has a 38 inch vertical so maybe not. He will also excell in the return game. At the end of the day what makes him elite is the speed.

Intangibles- he is quiet leader. Very calm yet passionate player. He told the team before the Maryville game "I play for Jesus Christ, my family, and my teammates." Just a hungry kid with a great head on his shoulders.
-From a poster over on VQ who says he coached at DB this past season.

"When me and Devaun went up there, Coach Jones really stressed he wanted to win the state," Foreman told VolQuest.com on Saturday. "I really liked that."

"I'm feeling good; me and Devaun committed to UT (Friday)," said Foreman, a three-star, 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete. "They (UT's coaches) were really excited and had a lot of energy when we told them. It was fun."

"We just really liked the coaches when we went down there," Foreman said. "I got along with Coach Jones great, and all the coaches, and the facilities are incredible."

"I've always been a competitor, so in my mind I can really play anywhere," he said of competing at the D-1 level. "It feels good to get [the decision] over with, get it done so I can just relax."

Said on the local news from Arby's Classic he had been told he would play WR or DB. He said he called Coach Franklin and their other coaches and told them of his decision. Said they were "very upset, but Tennessee is where I want to be and it's a business."

Said he is very excited to run through the T.

Even the small jabs are nice to see . Screw Franklin . Next year we are going to bring the heat.

This kind of reminds me Anthony Andersen. Which one out of the two do you guys think is better Foreman or Andersen?

Ok I have a question, why is everyone down on this recruit? Is it his size? Is it his weight? Or is it because he is only a 3* recruit? Somebody tell me the difference between Malik Foreman and Jahmere Irvin-Sills and Jaleel Hytchye which are the other two CBs we are hoping to get and other posters are saying we should go after. Seems to me they all look small and under weight but Malik Foreman is the one that dont sound like a good fit. Just curious about what everybody thinks.

One word says it all and that is Haters.

I wouldn't like building an entire class around these type of recruits but I'm not against taking 1-2 a year in a class at all. You can look at almost any class & find a guy like this in it. He's 5'10" 170lbs & runs a 4.4, that's a good basis for a football player IMO. Would be huge if he could get redshirted, add some weight, & be actually coached up. Coty Sensabaugh didn't really make a huge impact at Clemson until he was a redshirt Senior.

Saw this kid play in person several times this year and he made everybody else look like they were standing in cement!! Glad he is a Vol!!!

100% agree, this kid will give his all for TENESSEE on the field and off the field and in the classroom. He has his priorities in the right place,he told his highschool teammates that he plays for Jesus Christ first then his family second and then his teammates. WOW...what a graet addition to this VOL family and university.
