No one was scared of the Raiders.. You don't make it in the NFL by being skeered of your opponents. The Raiders were just that good under Madden..
OK, hi-jack over.... Sorry, back to Malik..
Being from Compton doesn't make you a thug. You are stereotyping. I know that's not what you're trying to do, but you are. There have been some dirty white boys who wore the orange who would absolutely rip your head off and shat down your throat. Were they thugs? Or do you have to be from the hood?
-From a poster over on VQ who says he coached at DB this past season.Foreman:
Physique- he has a great lower body. He has a high butt and is pretty bow legged. He will hold good weight in his lower body. The one knock on him is he is narrow shouldered. That will prevent him from holding a lot of weight up top. I also think he is not quite 5'11, but relatively close. IMO he will play at 5'10 185 and still run the way he does.
Ability- he is burner. He has good balance and decent change of direction to go along with his sub 4.4 speed. He is great at high pointing the football whether on O or D. He is also surprising hard to tackle. And yes, his hips are very fluid. He will lock people down at CB, could have trouble with bigger WRs, but he has a 38 inch vertical so maybe not. He will also excell in the return game. At the end of the day what makes him elite is the speed.
Intangibles- he is quiet leader. Very calm yet passionate player. He told the team before the Maryville game "I play for Jesus Christ, my family, and my teammates." Just a hungry kid with a great head on his shoulders.
-VQ"When me and Devaun went up there, Coach Jones really stressed he wanted to win the state," Foreman told VolQuest.com on Saturday. "I really liked that."
"I'm feeling good; me and Devaun committed to UT (Friday)," said Foreman, a three-star, 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete. "They (UT's coaches) were really excited and had a lot of energy when we told them. It was fun."
"We just really liked the coaches when we went down there," Foreman said. "I got along with Coach Jones great, and all the coaches, and the facilities are incredible."
"I've always been a competitor, so in my mind I can really play anywhere," he said of competing at the D-1 level. "It feels good to get [the decision] over with, get it done so I can just relax."
Ok I have a question, why is everyone down on this recruit? Is it his size? Is it his weight? Or is it because he is only a 3* recruit? Somebody tell me the difference between Malik Foreman and Jahmere Irvin-Sills and Jaleel Hytchye which are the other two CBs we are hoping to get and other posters are saying we should go after. Seems to me they all look small and under weight but Malik Foreman is the one that dont sound like a good fit. Just curious about what everybody thinks.
Saw this kid play in person several times this year and he made everybody else look like they were standing in cement!! Glad he is a Vol!!!
I wouldn't like building an entire class around these type of recruits but I'm not against taking 1-2 a year in a class at all. You can look at almost any class & find a guy like this in it. He's 5'10" 170lbs & runs a 4.4, that's a good basis for a football player IMO. Would be huge if he could get redshirted, add some weight, & be actually coached up. Coty Sensabaugh didn't really make a huge impact at Clemson until he was a redshirt freshmen.
