FWIW, Wilkins was much more impressive his junior year, when he averaged 7.9 yards per carry. He only averaged 5.8 ypc last year, just a bit above his freshman average of 5.6 ypc.

How was his Oline this year compared to last? If it is anything like the usual Memphis high school lines I have no problem seeing him just get crushed every play

Vandy board saying Wilkins cancelled his visit there. Expected to commit to Ole Miss. Gives them about 43 RBs now in this class.

Gotta love Hugh Freeze's approach to recruiting. Loading up on big bodies and as many skilled athletes as he can. Let the chips fall where they may in the fall. Quick way to bolster/flip your roster.

Seriously though, it's kinda sad. No doubt we have a quality line and still not a single recruit will touch Tennessee. This seasons w/l record will be the only thing that will change any of this.

Maybe Freeze is going to do what UT did some years go. Recruit all the RBs and then flip 1/2 of them to LB. It worked for us a while back. Granted, a bunch of RBs may try to transfer from Ole Miss in the next year. :eek:lol:

No I dont think Barber rethinks his commitment to Ole Miss. Freeze has done an outstanding job at selling Barber to be his featured back. When Barber was here Freeze still stayed in contact with him. We need to focus on Ford. Uzzi is right I think he is a Vol as well from what I have been told

I agree. After looking into Ole Miss and the class they have going I saw where Barber committed about 18 months ago. He is not going anywhere.

All of those guys will be riding pine behind Mark Dodson. He is the real deal. I wish we could land Barber though, IMO he would fit better in our offense than Freeze's.

Not only that but Mathers and Jaylen Walton were true freshmen last year. Jeff Scott is returning for his senior year as well. 7 RB within 2 classes? Someone won't be happy.

Insider article talks about how he was never contacted by Dooley's staff but CBJ reached out to him and that he might take his visit over the weekend.
