'13 TN ATH Jordan Wilkins

Jordan Wilkins has de-committed from Auburn. I've hinted at this for weeks, so no surprise. He is a good back that will find a good home, but Auburn decided to ultimately go another direction.

Decommitted from AU.... Thanks for all the love from the fans but I have to do what's best for me

Is this injury related SCtiger?

I don't believe so, but a reevaluation by Malzahn staff. For his part, Wilkins lost contact with AU after Luper was fired. Shortly after Malzahn arrived, he signed a JUCO RB that probably caused Auburn to rethink Wilkins. AU still looking to sign two more RBs.

Thanks. :hi:

I guess so much for the praise AU was getting when it said they would honor the kids scholarship even with the injury. Maybe they just said the right thing when it happened and now feel it's crunch time so drop him. Honestly I would not mind a bit if CBJ added this kid to our roster.

Why isn't UT in on this kid. I haven't followed his recruitment, but the idea of an in-state 4 star RB opening his recruitment back up without UT in on it confuses me

He has been a long time AU commit. Alot of people on here had stated that he was never really interested in Tennessee. I would think the injury did cause some other teams to back off him. It's one thing to not persue a kid because of injury. It's a whole different story to drop him because of it.

The previous coaching staff were the ones saying they would honor his scholarship, Malzahn and co. never said such a thing.

Me neither. In fact, I've wanted this kid from the jump. Just never thought we had a prayer.

I'm just gonna follow you all morning and like your posts. Because I've agreed with every damn one of them.
