'13 TN ATH Jordan Wilkins

Wilkins father - "Jordan is very familiar with Coach Malzahn. I think it's a good hire, I really do. I don't know what's going to happen with the assistants, but I think the hire of Coach Malzahn was a great hire. Jordan is very versatile, he can catch the ball out of the backfield, and he could probably adjust to any offense given.

"Once the dust settles, he'll have to figure out what he's going to do. Schools are coming by our house and we're allowing visits, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Arkansas have all visited in the last week. I would say it's Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee right now. Jordan is setting up official visits to Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Auburn, once everything settles."

Jordan Wilkins, RB, Cordova (Tenn.) St. Benedict

This Auburn commit is very familiar with Arkansas' program and at one time said that he almost committed to the Hogs after an unofficial visit on the Hill during his junior year. The Hogs are still somewhat in play because of Wilkins' relationship with Chaney, who had previously recruited the 6-1, 210-pounder to Tennessee.

Wilkins says he is still firm to Auburn but does plan on visiting the Razorbacks on January 18. The four-star is the No. 17 running back in the nation and the No. 4 prospect in Tennessee.

He's not coming to TN. Sadly.

That sucks. As much as I love green we could have had a really solid rb class this year with just in state guys. Wilkins, dodson and elder would have made me pretty darn happy.

Apparently it wasn't going to make DD happy... Also is probably why he'll never coach a big program again

I live in West Tennessee. For some reason Memphis kids generally do not like Tennessee. I sure hate that, lots of good football players in Memphis and surrounding areas.

It's def a problem but DD is a complete idiot for pissing off so many of these TN high school coaches. Our poor record recruits against us enough as it is let alone TN high school coaches recruiting against us. You really have to attack these memphis schools early and often to get these players.

Speculation is he will decommit from AU shortly. Perhaps Tashawn Bower as well. Doesn't help Auburn not having RB and DL coaches.

Early impression of Malzahn?

I've known Malzahn since his HS days, he isn't a big-time recruiter. He likes to find guys who play hard and fit his system. If Auburn fans are gonna look for Top 5 classes, they most likely aren't going to get them.

Disagree. He will be a fixture in the top 10. He put together a very good staff

I Love Wilkins game. very good feet for a guy his size.

would have looked good in a PowerT Helmet

I do know one thing on Jordan. He wants to play for a traditionally bigtime powerhouse program with tons of fans and all the perks of being a bigtime SEC player. Hence his commitment to AU. So FWIW UT would fit in that category

I do know I always like to see talented guys from Tennessee come to Knoxville at suit up in the orange.

A few great RBs from TN that wore orange that come to mind

Reggie Cobb
James "Little Man" Stewart
Travis Stephens

Coker was short-lived and disappointing, but coulda been a great one.
