'13 TN Ath Jalen Reeves-Maybin (UT commit 8/10/12)

It was. I didn't see his senior highlight tape. I wasn't bashing him. I just thought he didn't look like he ran a 4.4. Eddie played LB/ Safety in high school and they both were 6'1" 205ish range coming out of high school. I'm comparing him to an All SEC LB for those about to rip. Personally, I see him better at LB but the coaches will put him where he helps them the most.

Ok that makes sense then. He never really had a trainer until the summer going into his senior season. JRM got into a good program. Cone and shuttle drills, jumping rope, box jumps, box squats, deadlifting, and ladder drills. He started eating right also.

However I think the main key for JRM getting faster was improving his flexibility. I'm sure Coach Lawson is doing the right things.

I haven't watched his senior highlight film and if he did get quicker then I can definitely see him as a safety possibility. But, like I said earlier, the coaches will play him where he is at his best. He was a couple of classes ahead of me. Didn't really know him very well. But yeah I remember him.

I played against jalen for four years and i have to tell you, he is the real deal. I play for Springfield as and O and D lineman. I had to block him at LB, he uses his hands very well and is all over the field.

I think it is only a matter of time before JRM ends up at OLB. For one thing, UT only got one player, Vereen, in this year's recruiting class that appears to be a LB for sure and the needs of the team may push him to that position. For another, OLB seemed to me to be his best defensive position all along. I would, however, like to know what his true 40 time is because the 4.8 Rivals time seems inconsistent with the rumors of him being really fast.

Vereen is a DE if I'm not mistaken..

No way he runs a 4.8. He ran down Jalen Hurd to the sideline and out ran a very fast Beech team for long TD runs. As for OLB, he's going to have to get much thicker to play there. Not saying it can't be done.

I agree in his case it doesn't matter what his official 40 time is. JRM has very good football speed and can turn it on when he needs to. According to his HS coach he is as fast as he wants/needs to be within reason if course.

JRM is a Boss. This dude will be all sec in two years. Mark it down fellas, straight pimpin. OLB would be a perfect fit for him after a year of S&C, his speed will be killer on the outside.
