'13 TN Ath Jalen Reeves-Maybin (UT commit 8/10/12)

I think it will take one of the top In State recruits to commit and then some of the others will follow. You know with today's social media they all are talking.

Do you think any of the current commits have contacted any of the In State Guys?

All I know is that Ramsey has become good friends with Mccrary and I think another Vandy player or recruit.

Unfortunately both JRM and Carr like Ole Miss so there will be no persuasion to UT in that case IMO.

Skeeter, why do you put so much into Hinshaw? Everywhere he has been they have lost and got fired. He was at MTSU, they lost and he got fired (Whole Staff), then at Memphis it was a repeat, lost and fired. I'm just asking, why so much faith in him. On this staff Jay Graham and Sal are really the only proving commodities. Who else? If I'm wrong correct me.

Hinshaw is our recruiting cord, he pretty much knows where we stand with each kid. As far as coaching, those schools cleaned house from the hc down if im not mistaken. imo Hinshaw is a much better wr coach compared to qb coach. Hes still fairly young and has alot to prove no doubt.
Coiner has about 10 years coaching in the nfl.
I think Pittman is a very good coach.
Palmero seems to be a good coach as well, he also has a little nfl exp.
Overall i think our coaching is fine, we'll see.

I just asked because Skeeter is always referring to him. Those are the names that came up when I asked the question, and they are unproven and not on campus. It is what it is. I've never heard anyone anywhere on here talk about him being a top recruiter. I said correct me if I'm wrong, not give me excuses. I was just asking, you getting all worked up like he's your blood brother. lol

Fair question, but Hinshaw has been a beast of a recruiter for us in Florida. And on top of that landed us Patterson after many thought we were slipping.

I think that if you were to ever meet coach Hinshaw you would understand. He has a very professional attitude and a genuine enthusiasm about him. Don't know if that equates to an elite coach but, the potential is there.

You realize Vandy lost 5 seniors last year that actually played in games? I am not going to argue your point besides the fact that we havent lost the amount of players you are suggesting

I guess I got confused because I remember hearing something that Vandy had something like 30+ seniors last year. I don't follow Vandy football enough to remember whether those guys played or not. Mea culpa.

It's like this: I would love to have Jalen aboard, and I still anticipate him committing to us. However, if he sees himself fitting in better at Ole Miss or Vandy, then so be it. That's his decision. I'm sure he'll be fine in either one of those places, and I know one damn thing for sure, Tennessee will be fine as well. So, in short, Jalen, I hope you're in with us...would love to have you, but if not, no biggie. Best of luck to you any way you think best for you!

Exactly how I feel about any of these kids. It is hard to tell at this point if they would be a hit or a bust. Look at Bryce Brown and Daniel Brooks. You never know what you are getting until they get into school and show their talent and maturity level. Most of the kids that think they are God end up in trouble anyway. Cameron Clear and Mr. Crowell are great examples.

Don't fret guys. It is only June. Last year at this time we had 2 commits. I don't know if they even made the cut, but we still had a good class. If we have a good season, the higher rated prospects will be beating down our door. Many are waiting to see if Vol Nation and Hart are going to run Dooley off. If we miss on some of them it will be OK. There are "a lot of other fish in the sea".
