'13 TN ATH Jalen Ramsey (Former USCw, now FSU commit)

I have a random question, and since this thread is pointless anyways, i'll put it here rather than starting a new thread.

Can someone explain or post a link to how Texas A&M can have 34 commits right now, and Georgia, 30?

Thanks in advance.

That is an easy one and the answer is backcounts from 2013 to 2012.A&M signed 19 last year and theree of those were backcounts from 2012 to 2011 class so in essence they brought on 16 for the class of 2012 and can back count 9 EE's ( early enrollees ) who enroll in January to class of 2012 from class of 2013 then they can sign an additional 25 in February on signing day thus bringing in 25 players in 2012 and 2013.The same applies to Georgia.

Exactly... and important to note it's a "rolling backcount" as well... so it isn't quite as simple as just looking at the previous year.

Next year, a hard limit of 28 goes into effect with the entire NCAA on top of the existing rule. So, all "available scholarships" not used this year will be lost, with a MAX of 3 counting back next year. You will see practically every class filled to capacity this year for this reason...

Give it up, you don't have to connect the dots to see this one's a lost cause.

1. USC/UF
2. Vandy

except for the fact that 1,000,000 different scenarios and 1,000,000 different things can happen between now and National Signing Day so what you say has no significance here

Ok, since we're splitting hairs here, "It is very, very, VERY unlikely that Ramsey ends up at Tennessee".

Happy now?

TAM doesn't have the limit this year. UGA... I don't get it either

Yes they do.

Same rules apply to the entire NCAA now. Once the SEC adopted them, so did everyone else. Some conferences take it a step further though(B1G stops teams from signing any number above 85, etc)

Lol at Ramsey sucking the Kiffin swag

Kifffin is a piece of shat. USCw team failed to show up at joint dinner with GaTech at Sun Bowl. Johnson and players left after waiting for awhile. Hope all his commits and recruits were watching Tech destroy them with Kiffin wearing his hoodie over his head all day.

Kiffin looks like a man who knows he's on his way out today. Might not be the case, but it is worth speculating.

I was upset that he left us the way he did. Now I'm just glad he left.

USC recruiting class rankings 09 - 4th, 10 - 7th, 11- 4th, and 12 - 13th as listed by ESPN.

I think Ramsey might need to reconsider that USC commitment because it doesn't look like they know how to coach talent out there... Just saying is all!!! :eek:hmy:

Either you did not read my post above that explained what is happening or you have a very severe reading comprehension problem.Backcounting is the answer as I explained and that is open to everyone in the whole USA.Fact is Tennessee can back count two EE's ( signed 23 in 2012 who enrolled in school in August 2012 ) that will enroll in school in January to class of 2012 and still sign 25 on Feb signing day just as long as they do not exceed the 85 scholly limit in the window when school starts next August.

With USC looking so bad and appearing so poorly coached, I have to wonder if their recruits are serious about playing FB or just want to go to LA. As a Gator it bothers me since I know UF is recruiting Hatcher and Ramsey. Are any of you bothered or do you just think talent trumps attitude or whatever?

I think that if these kids take a real look at what's going on out in LA IMO I can't see them taking a chance on what could turn out to be All American careers in college and possibly moving on to the NFL with that staff.

Whether they end up in the SEC or another major program it will be better than USC and the cancer that resides there.

Saw someone on here say they didn't have tthe 25 limit.

You sure? I thought I read somewhere that part of the arrangement of bringing in Mizzouri and A&M was that they didn't have to adhere to the 25 scholarship count until the 2014 season. Of course, as you have previously posted, the NCAA is implementing the 25 rule across the board and allowing a hard count of 3 back count schollies. Still trying to figure out UGAs numbers myself.
