1. RB is the easiest position to step into. Remember Amir Carlisle? The fact is if you want a recruit bad enough who can't meet your deadline to EE (Bowman) and can make it past the clearinghouse (York at Utah), you make room for them. USC was iffy long before the EE deadline, and his injury was the straw that broke the camel's back.
2. I'm not even going to argue since I saw him every morning, ate breakfast at parkside, lunch at the old Galen cafe, and played pick up basketball with him multiple times a week, etc. I heard him say from his
own mouth he was disappointed in how his career at USC played out. Yes, he was drafted...and promptly cut and signed the Eagles practice squad. Hoping my boy makes it on the AR...but we agree he should've played CB (Gable should've too...)
3. Ok Woods didn't pass him, but Lee did who was suppose to play S until showing out at WR. George will be fighting for the #3 this year with a RSJr and a highly touted 5* (who'll likely play both slot and RB..could change depending on Redd's decision). Couple that with how awesome Telfer and Grimble have been--Pomee ready to get some carries as well--you start to see George ain't gonna be a featured player on O this season. If RW comes back--unlikely, but he said he admired MB7 and TJM's decision and might still be injured--George is screwed for another whole year. I love George and think he's an amazing talent, but so was Prater...injuriess, not picking up the playbook, whatever..what matters is you have to produce like #2 & #9. They've been dominating since they put on a helmet in year 1; George will hopefully make that step this year (knock on wood).
