'13 TN ATH Jalen Ramsey (Former USCw, now FSU commit)

Here's what iv noticed so far. OCI & Skeet Skeet both thought we were in good position for this kid. Well some fat old man comes along trolling these boards named DeWeener and says otherwise. And just like any day on volnation you get a bunch of old and young dumb fans get all upset because they think that every kid on this message board is a vol lock and vol for life. Well OCI & Skeet skeet, mostly OCI now has a mild case of butt-hurt because this DeWeener troll might actually be right.

You didn't read the thread. Stop arguing like you did.

Any you "know" that Ramsey is interested solely in "3 and done" exactly how? If Skeeter is in fact employed in some capacity with the UT athletic department, then please explain how it is ethical and/or within NCAA rules for him to be spouting "inside information" on these boards? If we believe that everything Skeeter says is true and if Skeeter is relaying conversations between recruits/families and the UT coaches, does this mean that any such conversation may end up on these boards? Or is this special treatment reserved only for those who decide not to commit to UT? Hope I am wrong, but either way makes me uncomfortable. What say you, Skeeter?

Not Skeeter, obviously, but I say you get over it, quit whining, and stop trying to put some unethical label on "an insider". If it makes you uncomfortable then stop coming to the recruiting forum. You know, the forum you view to get any scoop and piece of information on a recruit. Its hypocritical.

I dont relay what is said between coaches and family because i never hear that conversation. But i do give some information that i hear from coaches. A lot of recruits have told our coaches that usc recruits you for 3 years, then off to the league you go. If thats the style they choose, then so be it.
Jalen has been all usc for over a month, but those close to him say otherwise, some say hes going to usc because of our fans. You guys believe what you want, believe that Jalen chose usc because maybe 100 posters on message boards are negative towards the program, forget about the 100,000 that show each saturday to fill up neyland to support our vols win or lose, makes sense to me.

Oh, i can say/type whatever i please. Every school has things that leak out early, im sure people around the usc program have known for awhile that Jalen was a trojan.

To me its a way to pay players without actually
"paying" them

No money ever exchanges hands between the recruit and the school

A "handler" comes in "representing" the player. He then shops the player around to the highest bidder. Sometimes without any knowledge by the recruit. Other times, the recruit and family are well aware of the exchange of money. At the time, the money is given to the handler for some off the wall reason, not associating it with the school. Handler takes 20% of the take. You consider what was the asking price for Cam Newton and thats a cool $10,000, usually tax free.

A handler shops around 5 or 10 kids a year, he is pulling in some cash

Winner... Although this is one of the cases where money isn't involved at least I don't think so. Its just a lot of negative recruiting and bashing that after a while makes you so annoyed to do what it takes to shut them up and quit making you feel stupid for liking something

Go ask Buck Fitzgerald. If anyone believes this young man made his decision on what a few message board posters type, well i dont know what to say. the truth is, Jalen has 2 former ut players that won a nc while here in his ear, then toss in dewhiner running down the program and coaches every chance he gets. To be honest i would rather Jalen go to vandy instead of usc.

Just ignore them...happening more and more these days...

I can't agree with that on any level skeet. :banghead2:

Thanks for the honesty. Unfortunately, it appears that many on these boards just kinda assumed that you were dishing out inside info. Bottom line is that Ramsey, or any other kid for that matter, will make his choice based upon many things, most of which are none of our business. I love reading these boards for factual information and for opinions regarding the physical attributes/capabilities of some of these players that I have not had an opportunity to see play in an actual game situation, but have a hard time swallowing all of the judgmental rumor and innuendo (both positive and negative) that some insist on spewing. I know - I need not read it if I don't like it, but I do know a couple of recruits that do read this stuff and I do know that they can get turned off of our program when they read "facts" about themselves that are untrue (even if those "facts" are positive). These kids are kids, and they are human - we should all try to think of this before we post something about one of them. Thanks again for your response.

Alot of times i dont know what is going on with a recruit and ill get on here to ask if anyone has heard something from anywhere else. Just like with JRM, im not sure whats going on with his recruitment, hopefully he ends up a vol. When it comes to Jalen, im pretty much dialed in on his recruitment. Ive been saying for over a month he was all usc, yesterday we found out Jalen was recruiting Hatcher very hard to usc, now all the sudden Hatcher isnt sure about our coaching situation. All we have to do is have a decent season and no doubt we'll get Hatcher and Bell.

Two questions.

1) Would Ut do better in recruiting if VolNation was closed down (public forum)?

2) Is State of the Vols related in some way to the Ramsey family?

2013 USC Football Targets

USC only has 15 scholarships and have 11 committed and 2 DB's commits

USC is in with a bunch of top DB's already so who knows if J. Ramsey will even be able to go, and all we need is wins to revive our program and recruiting which I think it is very possible for us to reach 9 wins

Actually 18 as three will be EEs. Strike that it is now 19

If he is so trojan... lets just drop this thread likes its hot (as lil wayne would say.. there is some swag)if these former players are talking that much about UT their not loyal.Say what you want but LK hurt our program by coming and going and if you people dont think he knew that he was the next coach at USC BEFORE November of thatyear you really need to think and look back.He used our university for a training for the USC job

Travis would have a field day reporting that happening

Tee is also the same coach that nearly doubled UK's receivers productions when he became UK's receiving coach. Not to mention the same guy that bleeds orange. I don't know why UT fans have to attack their own.

Same ones who throw out VFL every day most likely.

Good luck to this kid wherever he goes. Hate to lose him, I have a feeling he's gonna end up a top 50 or so player.

You must realize that this happens everywhere. Obviously VN is put in a spot light as it is a popular board. I'm not saying that it is ok; however, if it turns a recruit off of a school then chances are he or she (lets not be sexist) will make the wrong choice as his/her priorities are not in order. If that individual makes it pro, then they will face more lies and nonsense on a daily bases.

Jalen likes the hot sauce and will get burned by it. As fans nothing we can do about it so lets be civil and move on if he does make that decision on the 16th. As bad as I hate to lose a top talent from the state he doesn't determine the direction of the program. Let move on and build other relationships.
