Jalen may very well be coming to UT.
But to answer your questions:
(1) We are recruiting him very hard, but you have to realize that things have changed. these high school kids don't feel the same pride in TN that you and I do.
(2) define "Swag". This new age mentality of swag doesn't win football games. it means nothing to have swag and lose ball games!
(3) he doesn't care about message boards, but he sees this stuff. Demeaning guys who have stayed in state and giving their all for our program could make a kid wonder what kind of "fans" we have. not to mention some of the people being bashed are some of the closest people to him.

BTW, assuming you are truly in Jalen's camp: just to reinterate what a few other posters said above; Jalen is a highly coveted recruit on this board. If anything negative has been said it has been a) rehashed converstation from a rival board or b) that fringe lunatic fan that EVERY passionate fan base has.

Hope to see this kid in ORANGE. Go VOLS!

We might not have agreed on our previous posts. However, I do agree with some of what you say in this one. I don't think the HS kids now days feel the same pride for playing for their state school that the older generation did...not all of them anyway. Thats not a knock on Jalen, just how I see it on a large scale. Now one thing that DID excite me was in his interview at the 5* camp. He said something along the line of wanting to represent his state and show that we have some good players here in Tennessee. That made me think he might have some of that pride in him. And he might, I don't know the young man. But that's what this program needs BADLY IMO. It seems like every good team we have has some local guys who are key. At times they might not even be the most talented, but they bring a certain grit and in many cases are the heart and soul of the team. That's what I wanna see again on The Hill. That's what many fans wanna see. We all want Jalen, no need to think twice about that. And perhaps this rendezvous between you and VolNation didn't start off on the right foot. But I'll be the first and have no problem saying we should bury the hatchet. I WANT JALEN ON THE HILL! Yeah the Vols have been down, but Dudes like him are exactly what will take us back to the top!

He doesn't care but you do. Do I have it right? And by the way this a message board that ANYONE can sign up for. You can't tell who is here trolling and who is for real. Ask Jalen if he likes the people out in California thinking if he is from Tennessee he might be inbred , stupid and southern trash. That's right , stuff on the board doesn't bother him. By the way , how does that make you feel? At the end of it all you are giving the message board more power than it deserves. I bet the stuff SC fans say about Tennessee doesn't even bother you and the stuff said here that does makes you sound like someone who has a glass ego. What was it.... ONE person here? Look I'm sorry if it bothers you , but one doesn't represent the entire opinion of this board. I didn't even say it , but you know what , I'm sorry that someone did. Unfortunately Biggs, every fanbase has these idiotic fans that really have no clue about football and what goes in to it to being on that field...all they see is wins and losses. Unfortunately at our beloved school, they have seen a lot of losses recently. So, what do they do? Get on this public message board that anyone can get on and rant and rave about how this player can't catch, and how horrible this player runs the ball or blocks, etc, etc, etc. Even some who know the game do it at times, because it's a way to release their anger about our program that we love. Why do we do it? BECAUSE WE LOVE TENNESSEE AND ONLY WANT THE BEST FOR OUR PROGRAM AND SCHOOL!!! Is it right to bash individuals? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Many of us probably have no idea the feeling to run through that door before you hit the field and hit that sign that says, "I WILL GIVE MY ALL FOR TENNESSEE TODAY." I can only envision how it would feel, and I get goose bumps.

There are positives and negatives to having a fanbase like we have at Tennessee. When we are up, there is no other environment that can top Knoxville and Neyland Stadium. However, when we are down, some of the fans can get a little difficult, because we all want to see Tennessee win. As a fanbase, we have to try to continue being supportive even in the tough times. Hopefully, starting this year it will get a little easier to be positive about things going on at Rocky Top. GBO!!

Oh yeah, tell Jalen that he IS wanted in Knoxville, and for a TN boy, there is a little something extra special about hitting that sign that says, "I will give my all for Tennessee today." He can't hit that sign at USC.

Everyone has those fans. It's no secret. You're a fool if you think it's just UT. Every board has the same type, just in a different color. (school color)

It should mean something to be from Tennessee and play for Tennessee as you stated. As for Kiffin, I personally think he's a good coach X's and O's wise. But he nuked our program and acted like he helped it. Then he made snide comments in the media. To add to that, the recruitment of our early enrollees when he left here was classless. I would think that would cross the minds of parents who's kids are thinking about playing for the man. Would we have done better with BJ Coleman or Matt Simms at QB? Tauren Poole or Lennon Creer? Throw in the 20-30 players he ran off who would have helped us big time from a depth standpoint. Throw in the 15-20 players from his lone recruiting class who are no longer here. Yeah, it's safe to say he nuked our program.

So why evaluating the two schools...you can play for Kiffin, who nuked Our program, along with a fanbase who thinks we sleep with our cousins. Or rep your own state and play for a fanbase who will worship you. And the last I checked we were right up there with SC in wins.

Excuses, isn't that what UT Fans are use to? Everytime you lose a game all you have is excuses. That's your history.

Yeah, I just realized that. I was reading the article on ESPN about his performance at camp. I saw that it said USC commit, and thought that it was implying he just committed. I deleted my post...my mistake.

Our history? The last 5 years does not define the history of UT. What a joke comment. We are historically a TOP 10 program in almost everything that matters. Your confused with the history of vandy.

Then what should a message board that makes up less than half a percent of the fan base 8have to do with his, or any recruits, decision? Who cares if one idiot insulted somebody who knew someone who was friends with that was sitting near someone else? He's a Tennessee kid and we all want him to run through the damn T. If he goes somewhere else based on this crap, then I think some people have a pitiful perspective on how the vast majority of our fans really feel about UT. Almost as bad as jumping ship over a quote from some friggin bama site. Get over it.
