Not trying to be argumentative, but I just flat out disagree. Yes he's working on his ball handling, but because it his biggest weakness not because he wants to be a PG, you're the first person I've ever heard mention it. He hasn't played it in AAU or high school, I find it pretty slim he wants to, if he wanted to he would've been.

And how many NBA PG's are 6'6" plus? I can't think of many, actually not counting lebron I can't think of any.

BTO , I was just thinking that you may be one of the more logical posters here . I have ran into several posters here in the past that cant have a conversation w/o bashing me for being a Tiger fan , with that being said , I respect your opinion and you may very well be right .

Magic Johnson and Penny Hardaway were point guards , not that Hubbs will ever be at that level but it's possible .

Shaun Livingston is the first one that comes to mind. D-Wade is close and does run minutes at PG, James Harden runs the pt with the 2nd unit in OKC. As a matter of fact, when researching a bit, the AVERAGE height of an NBA PG is 6'3"... That gives room for probably several more over 6'5".

You're probably the most rational Memphis fan I've seen on this board, so for that reason alone I have big time respect for you.

Yea there's definitely been a few, but they're very few and far between. The other thing is, we aren't recruiting him as a PG. we need his elite scoring and we need him to be a volume shooter, that's just kind of where we are at. If he went to UK, I could see it more likely. Cal has coached some tall PG, and he wouldt be reliant on Hubbs scoring a lot with the type of talent he'd have around him. However, we don't have that luxury, and if we pull him we need him to basically be or Kobe haha.

No way Hubbs would be a point. Even in Martin's system, that would probably be ugly and ruin and chance he has at the next level IMO. He's a solid 2 / 3 player. I think he's quick enough to guard a lot of smaller guards but talking in terms of getting ready for the next level, he's a solid 2 in the league.

That's what exites me.

Not knocking lofton, but his measurables hurt his chances with the league. Hubbs being 6'6"+ and 185+ when he steps on campus, he already has the height to be in the league.

If Lofton had Hubbs' measureables, he'd have been a lottery pick.

No surprise here. Martin has to feel good about a lot of things because we sure are cooling on a lot of kids late in the game.

Not new news, this came out, and was posted in this thread a few weeks ago.

Staff seems to like Samuels as the PG they want to pursue, with Landry a backup, over Newkirk.
