I would rather go with the in state kid Morris, build some in roads with HS coaches we will be dealing with year in and year out and call it a day.

Cody Clay was very raw, did you watch his film? There is a reason he will be playing D2. It is better that he isn't taking up a UT scholly.

I keep thinking the Cody Clay visit was some sort of make-a-wish promise CBJ made to him before he got to Tennessee after seeing his photo.

If we had a dungeons and dragons team at UT, I'd be all about pulling this kid. Thank goodness he didn't accept and burn a scholly.

Kyle Kempt, Brayden Kearsely and Thomas Tyner all played 8th grade football together in Aloha Oregon. They are all friends.

The GA Kempt played HS football and baseball in the same league as Erik Ainge and they played a few games against each other.

I asked my friends here at work who are big BYU recruiting "experts"* and got some more information.

He has been wavering for about 4 months. Apparently, he committed way, way early to BYU, and over the summer even burned an offer letter from the U of Utah. Recently Oregon and Washington have made in-roads with the pitch, "You decided really early, before you got to even see what other schools offer. You should at least visit our school to see what other schools can offer."

He is LDS (mormon), but that doesn't mean he won't go elsewhere. My friends didn't know if he was planning a mission or not, which can often be detrimental to the development of lineman, because you don't have daily access to a weight room for those 2 years.

After talking to my friends, I'd say about 45% chance he stays with BYU, 25% Oregon, 25% Washington, 5% somewhere east of Colorado. But take this with a grain of salt, neither my friends nor I have talked to Brayden personally.

*These friends are like some here who hold season tickets, read all the message boards, and then assume they know what the kids are thinking. They know much more about BYU football and recruits than I do, and watch all the highlights of recruits, that's why I post the info and think its relevant.

Can we get this guy and Thomas Tyner on campus now?

Doubt it. I think all the guys they would take a committment from on the OL have been here already. With him being a BYU commit, I doubt CK leaving Oregon has much to do with where he plays. Would love to land Tyner, but with him being from OR and committed there, I think he sticks.
