Outside Linebacker
Miami, Florida
Booker T. Washington
HT: 6'3"
WT: 205
40: 4.59
Shuttle: 4.09
Vertical: 36 inches

One of Hurtt's 3 targets this year (Keith Bryant and Goerge Williams from Hialeah are the other 2), and has had very positive things to say about Louisville and Charlie Strong. Some reports even have him having them in his top 4 at one point.

Kid is a special ball player.... Miami is going hard after this guy and that's my guess as to where he ends up.

Not leaving FL and with Stoops gone I think Miami pulls ahead of FSU for Thomas. He currently has 3 OVs scheduled(FSU, UM, UA).

Ice is telling people it's an UM and Bama battle. He like Bama but mom wants him close. FSU seems to be out with Stoops leaving.

Yeah UA lead for him through the spring but his visits always feel through. FSU and Miami to the lead as he visited both of them. With Stoops gone FSU seems to be out and UA has him scheduled for an OV on Jan 11th. I read his coach and some other family members would like to see him get out of Miami area but the mother wants him close to home.

pretty much spot on but Ice is the driving force behind most of the kids at BTW, MNW and Central. Part of the reason A Cooper ended up at Bama instead of FSU or tOSU.

5-star recruit wants to leave Florida State

Linebacker prospect Matthew Thomas was one of the top players in the 2013 class and chose to sign with Florida State, though he says he was never completely sold on playing football for the Seminoles. Now he would like out of his letter of intent in order to pursue his career elsewhere -- both Georgia and USC would be potential landing spots should he be granted his release. Florida State's coaching staff does not want to grant him that release at this point, though, and they are planning a visit with Thomas in an effort to talk him into sticking with the Seminoles.

Doesnt like Sal?

Watched some of our film from last year under Sal's watchful eye, and he didn't want any part of that.

hopefully he goes to USC :salute:

nah he would be great in Athens.. :good!: seriously jimbo won't release him from his LOI so he is going to need to decide if he wants to sit out a year and go to usc. that was his pick, but his mom wouldn't let him sign their LOI. this could very well end after his visit from jimbo and the staff.. it's interesting.

Needed a RS year to add some bulk anyway if he's still around 6'3" 210
Most of the top recruits in the country don't need to RS (he was a top 2 LB and top 10 overall). He could easily gain 5-15 lbs before the season and at worst be 2-deep at LB. All IMO of course

He's a great LB prospect. Reads plays well, great sideline-to-sideline speed, seems to sheds blocks well, and has good coverage ability. 205-210 is a little light to be playing college LB for a full year but you're right that he could easily add 10-15 pounds and be ready to play this year if he didn't have to sit out.

But I think they give out 5 star ratings to guys who have a high potential of being future NFL players/starters and not necessarily people whom they believe will play from day one. Not 100% on that but I believe that's what the guys from rivals have said in the past. But then again I suppose those kind of go hand in hand in many instances.

Can't disagree. It will be interesting to see all of these transfers (true Fr Mattgews/Vanderdoes) work out.
