Has a pretty good offer list. Wonder why the home squads haven't offered yet?

This kid is listed at 6'2"? In that video he doesn't appear that tall. Maybe he's grown some or I am wrong.

Huh where did that come from

He liked Ariz St but had no offer, they took a QB (Dobbs). he liked Arkansas but had no offer, they took two QBs. He liked both instate schools but had no offers. he liked Houston but had no offer, they took O'Korn.

He figured, even if I have to play at the worst program in FBS, at least I get a free ride to college, and took the Memphis State offer.

I could see Fuente having some success at Memphis. Going to the BE will help with their recruiting.

Bet he starts next year @ Memphis. They do have the #2 easiest schedule in college football next year.....

Unlikely. They are already in the bottom 3 in CUSA, and their only chances of getting wins this season in conference are UAB and Tulane. However, by going to the Big lEast next season they will drop those teams from the schedule. Instead, the Big lEast will feature even better teams than those at the top of CUSA plus the best teams in the current CUSA (Houston, UCF, SMU) along with programs in BSU and SDSU that are also light years ahead of where Memphis State is.

So in summary they'll go from having a chance to win against two conference opponents to having literally zero conference games they have a legitimate chance to win. And this is a program that is starting from a base of having won 3 games in the last two seasons prior to 2012, and looking at another run-of-the-mill losing season at best and very possibly another 1-2 win season at worst.

You are just talking about the short term. Long term, with their increased visibility, they will have a better chance with the local prospects. I also think Fuente is a pretty darn good coach. He was a HUGE upgrade over Porter.

They'll still be in, at best, the 6th best conference. Their visibility to local prospects won't be any different - those local prospects will simply be able to see them get their brains beat in by USF and UL instead of ECU and Tulsa.

Not sure what makes you think Fuente is an upgrade over Porter, other than simply knowing that Porter sucked. Fuente has never been a HC and wasn't considered a HC candidate anywhere else.
