'13 OH WR Corey Smith

Dang. Good land by Mullen

Very excited to get him! Fits perfectly in Bumphis' role, IMO. State was always going to be attractive to JUCO receivers because we lose all starters and over 80% of our receiver production this year. The fact that we've already missed on Quantavious Leslie and Johnathon Rumph had us getting pretty nervous about the position next year.

The JUCO system in MS is one of the only major advantages the Mississippi schools have. Glad to see us finally starting to use it efficiently... Think Za'Darius Smith announces for us in the next few days as well...

"The one-time Tennessee commit recently committed to Mississippi State but he told Volquest.com last week a few days after Tennessee assistant Mark Elder visited with him that he still hopes to visit Tennessee in January, although nothing was set up officially. He still likes Knoxville and Tennessee, but will the Vols be able to rebuild that relationship?
Official visit date: TBD
Other teams in the mix: Mississippi State"

Pulling a talented kid out of the MS JUCO system once he's there is incredibly difficult for good reason. :ermm:

Ron,

Appreciate your work. Now sit down and relax. Take that tie off and pour you a cold one.

Back-up plan or maybe even bad news with North?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

IMHO, he's not a back-up plan. He's familiar with UT, he's good enough to be recruited as a plan A and not a plan B, and CBJ has stated multiple times that he likes to have 12 WR on scholly on his rosters. We don't have that; moreover, the WRs on our roster will have to produce given the lack of depth and experience.
