Tight End
Winston-Salem, N.C.
Mount Tabor
HT: 6'5"
WT: 215
40: 4.7
Class: 2013

Wilson was at the O&W game....

"It went pretty well," Wilson said. "It was the first time I had been to Tennessee. I was planning on going somewhere for the weekend and I decided to make the trip. I've been hearing from them and I wanted to check them out."

"I knew about their history," Wilson said. "I had the chance to meet with Justin Meredith when he was committed to UNC. I know they have a lot of new coaches. I know about the players they have put in the league. I've not followed them a ton, but I feel like they have a lot to offer."

"I like that a lot," Wilson said. "I noticed it during the spring game. I think that is very intriguing, because some schools don't use their tight ends very much. I think it just adds to their offense."

"The coaching staff is the main thing," Wilson said. "I want to get a good vibe from them and get a feel for what they have to offer. They are a good academic school and that's a plus. I'd like to stay closer to home and Tennessee is only about a four hour drive so that is good."

He would be a good fit for tight end for us since chaney likes to use them as a te/fb hybrid type player. I say take him and sign the weaver kid from memphis as a tight end as well I think we need two TE's this year.

Good to see anything about a TE in the recruiting thread right now, IMO. We probably need two in the '13 class, and it seems to me that we're only in on about 3-4 at the moment.

"It went pretty well. It was my first time meeting coach Coiner and it was only my second time meeting with coach Chaney and coach Graham," Wilson said. "I talked with coach Graham for a little bit before the spring game so this is my second time here. Everything went well.

"I like Knoxville. I like the location of it. It's not too far, but it's enough where I can be out and independent and everything," Wilson said. "I definitely like coach Coiner, he's intense. He seems like a good coach. Coach Dooley, I know he's a smart guy and a good head coach to have. I know he walked on at Virginia and that's a good school."

"I'd like to make one by the end of this summer before the high school season starts. But, once I make it I will probably be done with recruiting, I won't go on anymore visits," Wilson said. "So, if I can't do it confidently then I'll take my officials."

I wish all recruits would be like this. If you're not sure don't commit and take your visits to make sure. But when you commit, commit.

I really think this will be one our TEs in this class. Strong mutual interest.

Wilson is considering becoming a jet pilot which could factor into his decision. He recently visited Air Force on an unofficial.

his hopes, if he has them, for joining and flying for them. When I was searching...granted many moons ago...Air Force height max was 6'4"...took me out of the running...Navy, on the other hand, was 6'6"...and with a timely bend of the knee on measurement, I was in at 6'5 3/4".

Wilson remains uncommitted. You guys are thinking of Lucas Hamilton, local TE from Lenoir City.
