Quarterback
Raleigh, N.C.
Wakefield High
HT: 6'3
WT: 210
40: 4.8
Bench: 245
Class: 2012

Could be a QB to watch in '13. Already named a top 7 of UNC, Duke, Florida State, South Carolina, Florida, Notre Dame, UVA.

As a Sophomore threw for 3,300 yards & 33 TD's while completing 60% of his passes leading his team to a 10-3 record.

His dad played at Syracuse. I don't know if that will have any affect on his decision.

That 48 to 9 ratio Td to int is markedly better than hackenburgs 20 to 16

He makes every possible throw in the hudl video... I like him much better than hack

Should like orange then. Gotta start somewhere

I'm guessing Kingston Vol pointed out the Syracuse connection because there are some Syracuse alumni that really hate Tennessee due to what happened in the 1998 season opener. (Remember Pete Thamel?) Most fans seem to remember Clint Stoerner's fumble as the miracle of the season that let us go on to win the NC - but the interference call against Syracuse after a 4th down incomplete on the final do-or-die, come-from-behind drive of the game was comparable on the miraculous scale. Good read here:

Hopefully not a factor for this young man...

Hack, Mitch, and Burns are the three QBs we should put the press on for. Building a class around either one would be great and a change of pace geographically

"Growing up, I used to watch Tennessee all the time and my brother would talk about how great they were and all that stuff. I guess it's cool to get an offer from them," Mitch said. "I don't know much because I've never met the coaches before so I just need to get over there and see what it's like and meet them."

I am curious if anyone else thinks that with the number crunch we are going to be facing next offseason that maybe we should seriously consider not taking a QB in this class.. Obviously if Tyler were to have a stellar junior campaign and decide to forego his senior year we would have to take one but if not we could use the spot for a position player and wait until 2014.. Thoughts??

We def. need to sign a QB this year, we have only 3 on scholly with Simms graduating and Nance transferring

This. Plus assuming that we have a good season this year then there will not be a "numbers crunch". The numbers will be worked out so that we have enough room for close to a full class. We are in on too many good players for that not to be the case.

Yeah I mean I pretty much agree with you too.. And the staff has already basically said that their approach is to take a QB every year.. My thinking was that maybe we could pass this year with the needs we have at OL, LB and the search for an elite back.. I also personally believe that Tyler will play two more years so that buys us some time to develop QB's.. Just a thought

Agreed. We've extended over 100 scholly's already, but the #'s crunch maybe due to the fact were close to the 85 and with our lack of consistent winning as of late idk who would be willing to grayshirt for a less than impressive program

Yeah Bray has Top 5 talent but it will probably take him two years to develop and fulfill his draft stock
