"The Tennessee offer was surprised because I really had never really talked to them before then."

Since the offer, Rogers has visited a good bit with the Tennessee coaches.

"I have talked to coach Sal and to coach Palermo," Rogers said. "They feel like I'm a good fit for their new defensive system."

Rogers recently took in a junior day at UNC and may go to one at Wake Forest. He aslo plans to see Tennessee at some point in spring or early summer

"I have seen them play on TV, but I've never been there," Rogers said of the Vols. "I want to see them some time before the start of my senior season. Coach Sal said he really wants me to come up there and see everything."

NC State: "I have only been to NC State one time. It's okay. I couldn't really say a whole lot yet."

UNC: "I like UNC. A former player from Crest goes there (Reggie Wilkins). It's nice. No negativity about UNC."

Tennessee: "Never been down to Tennessee, but they recruit me well. It's something to see this year. It could be their year. I am going to go down and check it out."

Rutgers: "They have not ever contacted me or messaged, so it was a surprise."

"Maybe at the end of the year after my official visits, which I am going to us, that's where I'll make my decision," Rogers noted.

In addition to the schools that have offered, Rogers is hearing from Auburn and Florida, where two of his teammates signed last winter. He said that Florida will likely be one of his first visits this summer.

I drive right by Crest on my way to and from my parents' home in NC, whenever I'm visiting. I'll be sure to plant a big banner on school property that reads "Florida Gators are Dumb" the next time I'm passing through.
