Impressive

Strong. Good speed. Compact. Changes direction well. Looks like a great back.

I'm a little bit skeptical about the bench max. The coach/trainer guy still had his hands underneath the bar. Isn't that a no-no? Could be wrong though. Regardless, I'm sure the kid is strong as all Hades and could knock my block off on the field.

He does look pretty good. He has good technique when he runs, keeps the ball high, tight, and compact. Obviously he's a strong kid. Cutting ability looked decent. He's got short, quick strides, and he looks pretty short, so 5'9" is probably accurate. I didn't see breakaway speed, but he gets to his top-end speed pretty quickly. Just what I saw. I'm no scout.

When you're going for a one rep max you need a good spotter to prevent the possibility of injuring yourself. I doubt he's helping him much at all. Still impressive for someone who weighs in at 208.

Naw, he didnt get any help on that rep. A spotter with the fingers under the bar is nothing but a mental thing for the guy putting up the weight. Size, speed, strength, kid looks legit to me!

The squat in the video is ridiculous for a guy his size. It helps to have a compact body like his though.

No. The squat is more important and more impressive anyways.

Helluva block by the QB at 2:40 in the video hah

I wouldn't block for the kid either though, not like he needs any help! Runs with a real purpose, definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Fair enough. I thought I had heard once that the spotter should keep their hands free of the bar, but I am definitely no expert. And for that matter, I'm sure the person who told me that wasn't either. Like I said before though, it's obvious that Ayres is tremendously strong. And I was also impressed by his running. Seems to have the fundamentals down pat as well. The ball was almost always tucked in to the chest. I'd like to know how many fumbles he's given up. Probably very few.

Wow, this is the type of RB we need 4.48 40 is pretty good for his build. He could be a Trent Richarson type of back IMO.

You guys see us taking three running backs this go around? That'll be tough. I'd say it might depend on how much our running game improves this season. If improved, I think we only take two. But two good 'uns!
