Does it not make sense that we should go after this guy? Can he qualify? I'd take a 4* D-Lineman all day long.

He's a good kid. I don't know where he would fit in as far as a 3-4, he is going to have to put on weight at NG. To me, unless you put in him in a 4-3, then he is an OL project.

I think he should have taken the GS offer but I can understand the disappointment.

Tennessee is switching back to a 4-3.

I can only hope CBJ, etc., is on the horn to him right now. We need DT help badly and Lawson probably wants to play this year rather than next. Get him on campus and show him our depth chart. Surely he would come to UT over UK, right???

Unless $$ is being passed around, I can't see why a kid would pick UK over UT.

Is the staff actively pursuing this man or not? Seems like there would be more buzz about a 4 star DT left on the table when we have 4 open spots and he represents a position of need. Thoughts???

no need to pursue him....his grades will prevent him from signing..was committed to LSU...but will not sign b/c of his grades.....found out from a friend of mine....who is a LSU grad

The story is that the greyshirt changed his position on LSU. But, if grades are the real issue, then we should just forget it.

From BleacherReport yesterday:
LSU has asked 3-star defensive tackle Tevin Lawson to greyshirt because of academic issues. I'm not an expert on the specific requirements of each SEC school, but if there's any way to recruit Lawson to Tennessee, it's a no-brainer.

Lawson is a Louisiana native and wants to attend his state's school, but the greyshirt request came of out nowhere, according to his high school coach. Since his decision to hold off signing with a school, Kentucky has made a concerted effort to snag him. Why not Tennessee?

But again, no grades...no play.
