"I really liked Auburn a lot. I like their program and their new defensive coordinator is doing some good things there that they showed us. I liked what I saw a whole lot."

"I like Auburn as well as Texas A&M an Colorado," he said. "Those are the three main schools that have really kept up with me the most."

Plays an Antoine Winfield style of off coverage. He's no where near the hitter Winfield was though. Got a bit of Honey Badger in him too.

He does look like a lot like Janzen. I am down if he plays like him but doesn't smoke like him.

Then let's get the **** done and steal him before they do. I think the only reason we lost santos to texas last minute was beAuse of the staff turnover if sirmon had still been here santos and peters both are vols in my opinion.

I see this guy as more of a nickel guy. Not as high on him as I am others but that is JMO. Would love to see him in 1v1 press coverage at some camps.

What I saw from him too. But he does tackle and cover well. And he's a playmaker. He's real feisty too(my type of player).

Wrong. Sunseri is a beast. Sirmon isn't in his league. Those two guys were the first people Sunseri saw after he was hired. Santos finally got a Texas offer - his "dream offer." It didn't matter when he got the offer, it matters that he got the offer. Peters is a different story. He was "100%" Vol until a few days before NSD. There was nothing Sunseri or Sirmon could have done to keep him a Vol. Dude got brainwashed by Petrino, and we got the negative recruiting treatment. Period.

Asked if any programs stand out at this point in the process, Ellis quickly named two favorites.

“Auburn and Colorado,” he said. “They seem to tell me what I want to hear and they want what’s best for me and they’re loyal to me.

“When I took a visit up to Auburn, I liked everything and I liked what the coaches had to say. The new DB coach, Willie Martinez, I liked his strategy and his team and what he wants to do with the DBs.

“Colorado just tells me what I want to hear too. Coach E.B. (offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy), he said I’m gonna be the future at Colorado.”

If only he could hear himself. " They seem to tell me WHAT I WANT TO HEAR" " COLORADO JUST TELLS ME WHAT I WANT TO HEAR TOO."

Yeah, Kid sounds pretty dumb with that statement. Every college that recruits him is going to do that. :loco:

Good example of not freaking out at this time of year. None of us have been talking about this guy, and we're in his top 3.

Is this another example of a kid who will commit to LSU once (or if) he gets an offer from them?

From what I was told he was put off by LSU because they want him to come to camp to be evaluated before an offer. DB is not a high priority for LSU depending on how many leave early... Reid and Mathieu are expected but I wouldn't be surprised by Simon's stock rising as well. LSU did sign 4 DBs last year and already have 2-3 guys for 2013 who project to DB.

Last I heard he is not coming to LSU's camp, so I would take that to mean he is going elsewhere.

Reminds me of Mathieu in some ways. However, I am a little suspect when an in-state recruit doesn't want to come to camp to show his stuff.
