Who really cares where these kids commit in July? It's where they sign in February that matters. Verbal commitments at this point mean very little. If UT can win a bunch of games these committed players will start to swing back our way just like they go to other teams when we end up with a losing record.

I don't see it. The only people saying he was picking USC to save his spot in case we had another bad season were people on this board. Some grasp for anything they think will help them deal with losing a recruit.

Same with the elite RB watch that is going on. As we sit here and watch another and another one come off the board, it's always the next guy who is considering us is the one everyone wanted all along. I think landing a top notch RB is going to be tough until they see a game where Bray is not throwing it 62 times.

Let's hope our Oline play is much better this year and the running game opens up. We have some good backs in Neal and Lane.

He's a good evaluator, motivator, game-day coach, among other things. He's also smug, arrogant, brash, and cocky. Don't like him myself, but to label him only as a good recruiter is inaccurate.

Face the fact that it doesn't take a Jedi master to convince an 18 year old that UT has fallen on hard times. Recruiting and program perception is yet another reason that Dooley needs at least 9 Ws this year. Time for the vols to make a statement & reclaim some recruiting territory.

Then why did other coaches before Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin fail then? Before Carroll USC was a doormate. Kiids like Kiffin and what he saling hell I wised we had him as a coach.

It sucked losing to KY, but I think it ws a blessing in disguise. As a result we have a much upgraded football staff and more focused and mature players. We will go 9 and 3 this year. Go Vols!

Directly prior to Carroll showing up, sure. Historically they blow the doors off of almost every other program.
