Hatcher visited Tennessee last weekend.

"It was very nice," he said. "I loved the fan base. It was a very loud stadium. I liked all the renovations with their stadium and practice facilities. The coaching staff has been up to a game to see me and a teammate of mine play this season."

Referring to Lance Thompson and Peter Sirmon.

“I talked to both of them pregame,” Hatcher said. “Tennessee, they were talking early playing time and me being able to make a huge difference. That’s the sort of stuff I’m looking for because I’m really looking to play early.”

“It was loud,” he said. “The fans were going nuts. They have nice facilities.”

"Tennessee was a real cool place when I went there," Hatcher said. "I believe they lost to Georgia when I was down there, but it was a real friendly environment. I loved the fans; they're very supportive fans down there. It's just a big community, and I plan to get back down there."

Hatcher's primary recruiter representing Tennessee is offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, who made the trek up to Louisville to see Trinity win one of its 14 games en route to the Fox Sports Next/Scout.com National Championship.

"We talk, he comes up to the school, he's been to a game," said Hatcher, who said he does email Tennessee defensive line coach Lance Thompson as well.

Going to be tough to get the Trinity trio to come to Knoxville. Notre Dame is all over Hatcher as well as Oklahoma. He grew up a Kentucky fan, and coach Greg Nord has done a good job recruiting him.

Per 247 he talked to Sunseri and Palermo this weekend and is trying to set up a visit. He's now up to 17 offers.

What?!

I live in Louisville, just down the street from Trinity h.s. actually. Wish I'd known CDD and crew were coming up... I would've invited them to dinner. We had chicken casserole!!!

Oh well, missed opportunity.

BTW, fingers - thanks for the updates... Love following the recruitment of local guys!

Hatcher is going to have to play in a 3-4 defense in college IMO. He is way too short and lacks the length to be an effective DE in a 4-3. Great athlete for sure though. His best bet is without a doubt playing OLB in a 3-4.
