This speaks volumes of what BJ thinks about our WRs on campus. He is desperate to get production.

Lb or Wr.....who knows for sure? Need some big uglies to commit

At 5'8" 169lbs Im going out on a limb and saying WR. And yes, we need big uglies no doubt. I think in the next month or two you'll see them start to come aboard.

Johnson would be a '13 WR if he can transfer this summer. Not a '14 LB.

Johnson is a take if he an get out in May or this summer. The staff feels like they need some depth with only six scholarship receivers.

As for Johnson, he is a 5-10, 180-pound receiver from Friendswood, Texas, who is on pace to graduate in 2013 and be ready to help the Vols this year. If not, he isn't a take, according to several reports. Johnson was a full qualifier out of high school according to this article, but he decided he didn't want to go to any school and felt like he deserved to be on a Division I team.

Looking at his game log last year, Johnson had 5 catches for 69 yards...rushed 1 time for 3 yards...returned 1 kick 60 yards...and had 4 punt returns for 67 yards. Blinn only played 8 games last year and Johnson apparently didn't play in their last 5.

Johnson's senior stats at Friendswood HS were OK, but nothing stands out. It looks like he was primarily a running back who averaged 6.2 ypc. As a junior, though, he caught 51 passes (10.6 ypc) and rushed for over 1,500 yards. He was even more impressive as a receiver his sophomore year, catching 61 passes for 872 yards (14.3 ypc) & 10 TDs.

Not sure about this offer but I know next to nothing about this guy.

Butch must feel good about the chances of getting him enrolled with the '13 class . Otherwise, this one is a bit of a head scratcher considering the amount of big name '14 WR targets we are in on. but in any case. . .

Welcome to the big orange family, Mr Johnson!!

I think it's a good move by Jones if Johnson can make it in this summer. It gives us another offensive weapon for this season, which is something we desperately need at the moment.
