so you're a fan of a university that told you that you weren't good enough?
Wondering why you were a "vandy fan" before they told you that you weren't good enough...? And what do you say when they trash MTSU? Do you sit there in your black and gold and trash them too?I was a fan of Vanderbilt LONG before I was an MTSU alum. I'm not one to drop my fandom because of a situation where it was up to me to get a great ACT score. I had the GPA, the ACT killed me. I don't do well on standardized tests.
Didn't do well on the ACT or the LSAT and now am having to retake the LSAT.

Don't you love it when people in school are like, "I'm a bad test taker"? You mean, you're stupid. Oh, you struggle with that part where we find out what you know? Oh. No, no, I can totally relate. See, because I'm a brilliant painter, minus my God-awful brushstrokes. Oh, how the masterpiece is crystal in my mind, but once paint hits canvas, I develop Parkinson's.
Link to a podcast for that? Vanderbilt admissions looks at each athlete on a case by case basis. They still have to have shown exemplary work throughout their prep career. Are kids getting in now that wouldn't have gotten in 10 years ago? Absolutely. I'm not naive enough to stick my fingers in my ears and yell "la la la" as if nothing is happening. But the fact is the athlete still ha to show the ability to do the work and succeed. If they don't show that, VU will not admit them.
Vanderbilt leads the SEC in graduation rate and in black male athlete graduation rate. Franklin isn't happy with this because neither number is 100%(not sure how either or determined either).
In high school I had a 3.6(4 point scale)and a 24 ACT. I applied to Vanderbilt and was denied admission. Had I been an athlete on scholarship, I would have been admitted.
Point is there are still tons if great players in the pool for Vanderbilt to choose from but there are always non-qualifiers that VU can not and will never be able to take.
Not everyone on the VU football team has a 30+ ACT score.

I had a 31 ACT and fell asleep during the reading section ( made a 24 on that part). Not sure how anyone can score less than a 26. However I do know guys that played with me that had an 18 on there ACT and now play in the NFL. I really don't think scores matter much
