13' JUCO TE Brandon Vandenburg

The staff took Quinn over Vandenburg. I would have went the other way, but ya have to go with the staffs evaluation. I honestly think we could have got either one we wanted.

If you're asking if I went to Vanderbikt, te answer is no. I graduated from MTSU.

Yes, Vanderbilt does have sidewalk fans. Went to my first game when I was 4 years old, wanted to go to VU, couldn't get in. **** happens.

so you're a fan of a university that told you that you weren't good enough?

I was a fan of Vanderbilt LONG before I was an MTSU alum. I'm not one to drop my fandom because of a situation where it was up to me to get a great ACT score. I had the GPA, the ACT killed me. I don't do well on standardized tests.

Didn't do well on the ACT or the LSAT and now am having to retake the LSAT.

Wondering why you were a "vandy fan" before they told you that you weren't good enough...? And what do you say when they trash MTSU? Do you sit there in your black and gold and trash them too?

While I hate Vandy, I can appreciate you being a loyal fan. However, still have Vandy :)

I absolutely do not trash MTSU.

Why I am a Vandy fan is a long story but just know it runs deep in my blood and my grandfather is the one who got me into it. Grandmother went to Peabody before it was a part of Vanderbilt.

I don't get the thrashing of MTSU though. There is not a single reason we can't coexist. I would never want to schedule them in football because it is a no win situation for Vanderbilt.

Yes, the last time that Vandy played MTSU in football and in basketball, MTSU beat Vandy.

Vandenburg did not have a committable offer from UT after Quinn committed to the Vols, so end this thread.

Well we haven't played them since 2005 in football and have you seem our basketball team this year?!

Don't you love it when people in school are like, "I'm a bad test taker"? You mean, you're stupid. Oh, you struggle with that part where we find out what you know? Oh. No, no, I can totally relate. See, because I'm a brilliant painter, minus my God-awful brushstrokes. Oh, how the masterpiece is crystal in my mind, but once paint hits canvas, I develop Parkinson's.

Link to a podcast for that? Vanderbilt admissions looks at each athlete on a case by case basis. They still have to have shown exemplary work throughout their prep career. Are kids getting in now that wouldn't have gotten in 10 years ago? Absolutely. I'm not naive enough to stick my fingers in my ears and yell "la la la" as if nothing is happening. But the fact is the athlete still ha to show the ability to do the work and succeed. If they don't show that, VU will not admit them.

Vanderbilt leads the SEC in graduation rate and in black male athlete graduation rate. Franklin isn't happy with this because neither number is 100%(not sure how either or determined either).

In high school I had a 3.6(4 point scale)and a 24 ACT. I applied to Vanderbilt and was denied admission. Had I been an athlete on scholarship, I would have been admitted.

Point is there are still tons if great players in the pool for Vanderbilt to choose from but there are always non-qualifiers that VU can not and will never be able to take.

Not everyone on the VU football team has a 30+ ACT score.

I had a 31 ACT and fell asleep during the reading section ( made a 24 on that part). Not sure how anyone can score less than a 26. However I do know guys that played with me that had an 18 on there ACT and now play in the NFL. I really don't think scores matter much

Who cares what Vandy is doing. Good for them, let them do what they do well. UT will do what we do and we will rise to the top. Focus on what we can do and don't worry about the rest.

I could have been All State but I had the flu.

I honestly don't know I did so poorly. Maybe I was under prepared. Who knows. That was 10 years ago so I don't really worry about it. I do know that 4 hour tests bore the piss out of me with exception to math because I actually like that stuff(score a 28 on the Math section). The other 3 sections, I really couldn't care less about.

Anywho, I was only trying to have cordial conversation here but it seems some Sony really care for that around here.

ACT scores are relevant for like 2 years while you're a junior and senior in HS looking for colleges. After that, it's how hard you work and what you make of the opportunity that determines how successful you are. Just my opinion though.
