It was set in stone yesterday after he talked to the staff. We just offered him right around Christmas.

Yeah, his profile hadn’t updated when I asked. I mean, just three SEC teams fighting over this guy, no big deal. I guess they needed to get their $ link before letting us freeloaders in on what was going on.

Not really kept up with recruiting this year, but with the latest TE commit, do we stop chasing this guy or drop Chauntez Jackson(think that's his name). It seems unlikely we would take 3 TEs considering our needs elsewhere.

This guy is better than Woody Quinn the other JUCO TE we are after therefore I believe B.Vandenburg is #1 on the TE board. C.Jackson is better at DE anyways and that's where I believe he ends up. AJ Bransiel has a lot of talent, but I believe that are going to let he & J.Meredith battle it out and if Meredith wins AJ will get a RS.

Go by the law of the last visit: whoever the last one is gets the player. Last visit corollary: just because he has a visit scheduled doesn’t mean he’ll go there.

Not trying to be an ass but when did Vandy start going after JUCOs? The only one I ever remember signing with you guys was Rodgers. Is this another shift under JF?

Postion of need - he plays immediately in his first year in a TE friendly offense for the passing game. Hope the last visit sells it.

I agree on Jackson - DE. Position of need as well. RS year to get stronger and learn the D.

UT has the last visit on Feb. 1 per 247. Great news. This is our JUCO TE.

Also looking at Nebraska, Vandy, and Arkansas. No leaders, won't decide until taking all of his officials.

Do the Vols take both Juco TE with Branisel and Jackson committed and make Jackson move to de or does the Branisel commit make us slack on one.

Jackson understood that we still wanted him about a week ago. We're taking like 27-28 guys this class, and we are very short on TEs. Downs is TE only proven guy, and who knows if Meredith will ever do anything/get healthy.

Vandy doesnt recruit very many JUCOs because most of the players at JUCOs are there because of academic reasons. This guy wasnt a JUCO for academic reasons...He went the JUCO route because of lack of offers out of high school.

Rodgers is the only JUCO I can recall also. I think CJF is open to taking a JUCO if he thinks the position has an immediate need. He obviously thinks we need immediate help at TE because he also showed interest in Cam Clear.

I don't expect for CJF to use the JUCO route often as programs aren't built with 2 year players.
