I would like to see UT offer this juco TE prospect.. 6'6" 255lb. The tight end position is the most rocky at this point heading into next season. We need 2 TE's in this class, and one should be a frosh or juco who is ready to play against Austin Peay.

He is racking up offers and he has 17 right now. No grade issues and he is interested in the SEC with 3 offers in Ole Miss, KY, and A&M.

IMO I think UT is done with TE recruiting for this year. They got Jackson for this year's class. Hubbs has already stated that Croom will be at TE next year to go along with Brendan Downs. Then there is Justin Meredith to fill the #3 spot.

Jackson is a project. With a great coach hire I'd expect him to be asked to look else where. This kid tho is a take without a doubt. He's a true TE and immediate help at a position of need.

I disagree that UT is done, with Croom playing his first year at TE, C.Jackson being a frosh, J.Meredith battling injuries and being a RSfrosh, and B.Downs currently on thin ice. It would be a far stretch to say the new coaching staff wouldn't take a game ready TE. This is the weakest position in terms or depth or a go-to guy.

Its all speculation at this point. You could be right, I could be right. Who knows. It doesn't even show that UT has interest in this kid so I'm not sure who they are actually going after.

O.J Howard will be a killer at TE for Bama.

OJ Howard is athletic enough to play WR. The current staff doesn't really have the power to offer new guys, because the new coach could say no. If I had to guess I think the new staff will target a juco TE and this guy seems to be a top notch uncommitted option.

"Thursday Elder is scheduled to see several junior college tight ends in California as the Vols are likely to take one this year. That list will likely include Brandon Vandenburg, who said he picked up an offer from the Vols Tuesday night, He was recruited by the coaches at Cincinnati so there's a previous relationship there."

Per 247

“I kind of knew they were going to offer because they got that new coaching staff, and Cincinnati offered me earlier in the year, so I was expecting a call from them,” said Vandenburg, who now claims offers from approximately 25 teams, including Miami, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, California, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Kentucky, San Diego State and Texas A&M.

Vandenburg noted that he "wasn't really considering" Cincy when CBJ was there. Now that the staff is with the Vols, he will definitely consider UT. Three to play two, final visits are probably to Ole Miss, SDSU, UCLA, and UT.

This is one of the biggest positives about CBJ to me, seeing quotes like this. I have a ton of confidence that he will recruit very well here. Just by adding the name Tennessee to his sales pitch it will open up more doors for him. He seems like a tireless recruiter already and seeing his results at Cincy and the BE I can't imagine not seeing an immediate upgrade.

one of the more highly recruited tight ends in the junior college ranks has the rest of his visits planned after a busy week on the recruiting trail. Brandon vandenburg (palm desert, calif./college of the desert), who holds more than 20 offers, continues to receive plenty of attention, as nebraska and tennessee offered this week. The offers from the cornhuskers and volunteers were enough to lock in visits from vandenburg, who will have a busy january.

The 6-foot-6, 262-pound tight end took an official visit to connecticut on nov. 30 and will use all five of his trips before signing on feb. 6. he will trip to tennessee on jan. 4, nebraska on jan. 11, vanderbilt on jan. 18 and miami on jan. 25.

He said the tennessee offer didn't come as a surprise this week, because head coach butch jones was recruiting him hard while he was at cincinnati.

Surprised this thread doesn't have more posts. A JUCO TE is a huge need and this guy is a good one.

He is the real deal and for the first time I'm worried about a kid OVing to Vandy after Tennessee. After watching his tape I made a thread because I want him in orange.

Interesting (at least to me) that Vandenburg is visiting Jan 4 and Quinn is visiting Jan 11. I wonder if the coaches will give him the opportunity to be our JUCO TE in this class, but if he is taking more visits will tell him that Quinn will get a committable offer.
