"It was my first time. It was nice. It was a lot better than I expected. When I first came here I thought it was going to be a small town with just a big school, not much to do. But, it was good. I had a good time," Campbell said. "I expected it just to be average. Just visit, come here and tour the campus and see a couple of things, but it's crazy. The fan base is very loyal. I like it here a lot."

"I basically got to talk to all the coaches and they were basically telling me about how I could make an immediate impact and since I watched the game they were telling they need me and I think I can come in and make an immediate impact so I'm just grinding right now to try and come in and make things happen."

Campbell also did his part in helping recruit junior college receiver Jonathon Rumph while in Knoxville.

"I had to talk to him a little bit and tried to get inside his head and tell him how good things are and that he probably won't get this opportunity anywhere else because Tennessee is like the only team that throws the ball a lot in the SEC because the SEC is all about the run game and stuff like that," Campbell said.

This is Herman Lather's replacement.

agreed our linebacing corps will be pretty decent next year.

JLB
Smith
Williams

MLB
Johnson
Harris

WLB
Maggit
Fugate

SLB
Sapp
Camble

Reserves
Lewis
Bynum
Verene
Zanca
Goeas
Barnes

I think that Sapp is playing pretty good this year and I wouldn't be suprised if he beats out Camble for the other SLB job. I hope I didn't forget anybody.

Lewis was in the original 2 deep this year. If he is healthy he will be playing, or maybe starting.

I really hope Lewis doesn't turn into the next Lathers on the injury front. :[

Lots of players tear their ACL - not a very good indicator of being injury prone IMO

I say Latroy on Sat before the game walking down Peyton Manning Pass on crutches - big kid.

His HS injury was a broken ankle IIRC

I think he'll be ready to go next fall

I was going off the fact that he has missed the last two seasons bc of separate injuries. I really hope he is ready for next fall as well and never has another injury that has to put him on the sidelines. We need LB depth bad.

That was my original thought but since he is just coming off an injury and Sapp is actually playing pretty good then I wouldn't be surprised if Sapp gets to start next year.

"I feel like our season has been going good so far," Campbell said. "We have been doing good, but struggling in some areas. We've only lost one game and we have been getting better week by week and just focus on improving one game at a time."

"I think I've been doing okay, but I'm the type of person that I feel like I can do more," Campbell said. "I think I've done pretty good, but I need to be aggressive. I feel like I can be better and I'm working each day to make sure I'm giving it my all out there. Sometimes I'm timid, but I'm working on that a lot."
"I can't wait to get there," Campbell said. "I feel like I can come in and make an immediate impact. I feel like I can come in and help in areas where they are struggling like getting after the quarterback. I feel like coach Sal is going to bring out the best in me and make me a better player. I think I'm versatile and I feel like I can come in and do a lot of different things."
"When I get a chance I give them a hollar," Campbell said. "I let them know how I'm doing. I make sure to tell them I'm excited to be a part of the family. I love how they teach the players and I feel like they are really good men. They have made a big impression on me and I feel like they will do what's best for me."
