'13 JUCO DT Toby Johnson

Actually, Mzterry said a long time ago to remember the name Ben Bradley, like she knew something. He signed originally w/ Penn State, I think...how did he end up at Hutchinson? Grades or no PT? Anyways, maybe we have been in touch with him for a while.

He has been picking up a lot of interest and offers. Of course he is going to weigh out his options and I don't blame him. He is most comfortable with UT b/c his former coach is here plus he has already developed relationships with our coaches and players. Plus, I'm sure that CP84 is always in his ear about UT.

Article on tos ... Says eyeing other options ? Thought he was a lock

Picked up two more (OU & Mizzou) offers over the wknd (Fri).

"The offers continue to roll in for Toby Johnson (College Park, Ga./Hutchinson CC), as the standout junior college defensive tackle picked up offers from Oklahoma and Missouri early Thursday evening.

A 6-foot-4, 290-pound tackle, Johnson now has 18 offers. Among those are USC, Arkansas, Georgia, Nebraska, Tennessee and Kansas State. Johnson played his high school ball at Banneker High School in College Park, Ga.

“I feel great,” Johnson said about the offers from Oklahoma and Missouri. “They just made my decision even harder.”

Johnson helped Hutchinson finish 9-3 in 2011, and the team was ranked No. 9 in the final NJCAA poll. He finished the season with 44 tackles, five pass breakups and two sacks." - Damon Sayles, ESPN.com 04.30.12

Don't be too quick to dismiss, question, or judge.

I agree w/ OCI and O & W, his Tennessee visit went well but too, he's taking it all in.

Keep in mind CDH is on it.

This kid would be a great pickup! With his current size he could potentially be very versatile within CSS defense.

That's what I thought according to his close friend. Not saying his wrong but Bell doesn't sound like a lock.

One thing I've learned in recent years is that a kid is only a lock when he commits and completely shuts down his recruitment.

Hell, Tennessee would have about 2-3 consecutive #1 recruiting classes right now if all the so-called "locks" we've seen mentioned in recent years had ended up in Orange.
