'13 JUCO DT Ben Bradley (Auburn commmit)

I don't see a reason why Staley wouldn't be retained.. he is the link for CP in orange, 2 top commits, and a 5-star DT.. If CP isn't already gone losing Staley would solidify that as the icing on the cake.
He won't count against as an actual coach, and if its actually Gruden as the next HC he should have a special place in his mind/heart for Tennessee grad assistants with his own personal history.

"It was cool. It was cool seeing him (Staley) again," Bradley said. "We were just talking about my plan, my graduation plan for me to finish up this year and he just told me all the stuff I have to do and all the classes I'll have to take at the end of the session."

"I feel like I'm doing real good in all of my classes so right I feel like I'll be out," Bradley said.

"It was real good. It was real good. I hope he stays," Bradley said.

"I heard the defense is supposed to change. So, if they change the defense to a 4-3 I would really like that," Bradley said. "Just a cool coach. A coach you can talk to. One that's not all about football. On that you can just talk to about anything."

"They get first shot. I'm keeping interest in Tennessee," Bradley said.

He also added that he will be at Miami on Dec. 7th and Missouri on the 14th. He said Oklahoma and Nebraska are still in the mix as well.

Interesting that a recruit knows the defense is supposed to change to a 4-3. How would anyone know what defense we will be running unless a HC and even the DC was already hired?

It is evident that the coaches on staff have information that is not being released to the general public. They are sharing this information with recruits and they all seem to be very happy after the coach visit.

I think you might be reading too much into that, just after the results this year its pretty easy to guess its going to change, especially if/when Sal is replaced.

I get that the coaches will change. Just because Sal is replaced though does not mean we would scrap the 3-4 unless the new coach or DC had decided to do so. We have recruited the last 2 years for the 3-4.

Personally, I will be shocked if it isn't switched back to a 4-3 base...I wouldn't exactly say we've recruited very well for it tho.

I'm actually curious tho, who among all our coaching candidates runs a 3-4? Has anyone posted this info by chance?

Ben Bradley may be in Miami this weekend with a visit to Missouri scheduled the next weekend. These next few weeks are critical for these two as we all remember what happened in the junior college signing period last year as the Vols essentially went 1-4 in junior college players.

"Spoke with Ben Bradley this afternoon. He visited with Coach Jones today and said he really liked him, liked what he heard and was still really interested in Tennessee. However he indicated that he was still planning on taking an official visit to Missouri this weekend, and while he hasn't officially visited there, gave the impression he was still looking at Oklahoma and Miami along with Nebraska, where he did take an unofficial this fall.

Bradley added that scheme wise, he liked what he heard from Jones today and actually preferred the move back to the 4-3 alignment.

He still intends to decide next week and while I would definitely not say that Tennessee has it locked down or anything close, they're still in the mix despite the staff shake-up."

Since CBJ cut Staley loose, I don't like our chances. I don't understand the logic in kicking him out. It's the only move he's made to this point that leaves me scratching my head.

IIRC Staley is looking to get hired as an assistant somewhere. May not have been so much Butch cutting him loose, as it was Staley leaving on his own to pursue a paid position elsewhere.
