6'7" 280 offensive tackle prospect from New Lenox, IL, that goes to Lincoln-Way West High School. The Vols offered today per Tim O'Halloran's twitter (@EdgyTim). His only other offer right now is Northwestern, so the Vols are on him early.

Part of article. Looks like Pitt doing work:

The Volunteers were in the school and McGovern says his contact with his area recruiter to this point has him high on the staff.

"Coach Sam Pittman [is my recruiter] and he seems like a straight shooter, He gave me all the facts and I liked what I heard."

Says Coach Pittman dropped by the school this week and offered before leaving. Also added an Illinois offer this week. Says he doesn't know a lot about Tennessee, but knows it's a "great school with a ton of tradition", and loves the fact that it's in the SEC. Plans on taking a visit at some point.

Isn't this the site where Sab got his media credentials? Decent write-up though. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, but was let go after being called out by many Knoxville media members.

But glad we are on this kid early. Pittman doing work...

The hiring of Pittman is severely underrated.

This.

The man seems to have connections everywhere. The experience he has had recruiting in the Carolinas undoubtedly stands out, but he has considerable experience in the Midwest, as well. Particularly in the Chicagoland area from his time with NIU.

Getting this kid on campus sometime this spring or summer should go along way towards the Vols staying in the thick of this thing. I'd guess Northwestern has the edge right now because of the academic side of things, but get him down to Knoxville and let him see the atmosphere for himself and things change in a hurry.

First in from the SEC on Midwest kids is usually a very good thing. With one orange blooded TN recruit already in the fold, if this one could be added down the road Pitt would be making his job a whole lot easier in the future. Need to pick up a top center in 2013 as well.

There is a great group of offensive linemen in Illinois for 2013, and I consider McGovern to be right there with them even though he doesn't have as much national attention as some of them right now. Northwestern offered first, but recently Illinois, West Virginia and Tennessee jumped in. The ball is rolling. Expect it to keep going for this 6'7, 280-lber who finishes blocks strong on tape.

Offers now include Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and West Virginia to go along with Northwestern, Illinois and Tennessee. 24/7 Sports also now ranks him as a four-star.

He got a Notre Dame offer today. That could be tough for them to overcome, but he is still tentatively scheduled to be in Knoxville in early-March.

The Dark Overlord, Nick Saban, has also offered now. This kid has absolutely blown up, but the Vols were in on him early.

I know ND recruits itself more than anything, but if I'm an offensive line prospect I take Pittman all day over the screaming combo of Heistand and Kelly. I wouldn't wish those two combined on anyone.

I agree, but this is a kid who takes the academic side of this thing very seriously, and he's an Irish Catholic. It was already going to be an uphill battle to get him out of the Midwest, now it's going to be even harder.

It's not impossible because, like I said, we were in on him early, but we'll have to seriously wow him when he's on campus next month. We shall see though.

Dont get me wrong, I fully expect he will end up at ND and that is in spite of Kelly and Heistand. ND has the luxury of recruiting itself. Kelly is not a very good recruiter at all (Just see his class this year). By ND standards it was one of the worst I can remember. But they'll still never have a class outside of the Top 25 though Kelly made a nice run of it this past year.
