'13 HI LB Colton Goeas (Kansas Commit)

I dont.

Goeas is getting looks from Nebraska, UCLA and Arkansas.

I was a definite fan of colton's and was looking forward to him playing Mike for us.

I'm with you on Goeas. Kid looks like he is game and can get to the ball carrier quick.

Vereen is the only one I would have really hated to lose...but I did like Goeas as a Mike...

What comes to mind immediately is does this kid have the speed to fit the new scheme...the film and numbers I've seen would say no...I suppose Jancek and company agreed with that because they could have easily kept him if they wanted

I think we should have stuck with this kid and got RK as well. This kid is a player. I understand alot of fans want to point to what "could" be and hope to land a guy with more stars by his name. It's not always smart to cut kids loose who have been long time Vols, and then strike out AGAIN on NSD.

I agree.

A bird in hand...

They better hope they can get some replacements after cutting two linebackers

I know this staff wants their guys but if we don't get some capable bodies in here to say the least we'll be up shxt creek here soon. I can understand some cuts but we'll see.....

I know we are all worried about who is staying committed & who is leaving but if these backers don't fit our 4-3 scheme what's the point about worrying about why the staff is cutting the fat. We need sideline to sideline lb's speed & more speed outside of Campbell none of they're 40's were on fire. If this staff is smart they'll go back to the formula that worked converting big safeties & rb's

I understand and, in most cases agree w/ coaches telling some of our commits to "consider other/your options"...but not this one. Kid is smart and a solid ILB. AND he wanted to be a Vol.

Tom Smith qnd Alden Hill to LB might be an option

We have been waiting about 3 years to land that "good RB" as well. Maybe someone should tell the staff it only takes a month to land a couple of them.

Different staff than what we had. I'm willing to give them a chance before I get to caught up in some of the early decisions that they have made. I would rather them bring in guys that can make dramatic changes on the defensive side of the ball than keep guys to fill roster spots. Vereen and Campbell are the one's the staff needs to focus on IMO.

Wonder if Levenberry may be back in play seeing how him and his pops feel about Sunseri.

I don't think so.

I think that means RK will be picking Kansas as well. SUCKS! I think Colton could have played here. Best of luck to them at KU.
