'13 HI LB Colton Goeas (Kansas Commit)

Senior inside linebacker Colton Goeas (Honolulu, Hawaii/St. Louis) has committed to play in the Southeastern Conference for Tennessee, multiple sources report.

Arizona State, Army, Hawaii and Washington State also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot, 246-pound 'backer. Nebraska and UCLA were among the other schools recruiting him

Goeas posted some of the most impressive ILB combine figures during the spring on the Nike circuit including a 4.86 40-yard dash, 4.17 20-yard shuttle, 30.9-inch vertical and 101.55 SPARQ. His shuttle time and SPARQ score ranked just behind those for fellow Hawaiian linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou), an Under Armour All-American and ESPN 150 prospect who is committed to Stanford.

I think ESPN shows a 4.86 40 - and their times are kind of jacked up. Not sure but that might be laser timed.

Even 4.8 is plenty fast enough if he's good at diagnosing plays, which he seems to be. He makes quick work of shedding blockers and finding th ball.

Brandon Spikes was around a 5.0 to 5.1 on average and he was a second round pick of the Pats. MLB dont need to be 4.4 so this kid is plenty fast

Film looks solid. Welcome to UT.

Sal is going to be a busy man developing this year and last years LB classes. It's going to be pivotal for the future.
