Ah...getting comfy here. This thread will be my new home for a while. It got a little dreary elsewhere. I feel optimistic here...Come on VB save us baby!

Our defense needs this guy in the worst way. He is a special player and I truely think he would have a good shot of starting as a true freshman at either safety or cornerback. It's hard to remain optimistic after finishing second on so many guys but I'm still holding out hope for Bell. :crossfingers:

He will be a Vol tomorrow. He has already informed some of the players on the team at Ridgeland unless he changes his mind during his sleep which seems to happen to a lot UT's targets.

come to tennessee bell...growing up a vols fan all my life i know how you feel and having the chance to be able to play for the school you have always cheered for and being part of the best school in college football!! come be apart of vol walk and the history here...can't wait to see you in orange GO VOLS!!

To be honest here... I'm not sure this fan base deserves a player like Bell. I know I'm gonna get bashed for this and probably rightfully so. But what I just witnessed in Levenberry's thread, wow. I knew we had some wack jobs here on VN, but I didn't know it was to this extent. Have some class and support these coaches and players. Maybe our delusional fan base that makes up about 20% ruins it for the other 80. I mean if I were a player or recruit with some of the bashing you idiots do, I would not spend 4 years of my life here. Arian Foster comes to mind along with Da'Rick while still here. There are others these are just examples

It's more like 2% to the 98%. Unfortunately you can't fix stupid, but there are people like that in every fan base. The 2% in ours has reached a fever pitch because of what has transpired over the last 5 years. CBJ is going to have his hands full fixing the product on the field and mending the fan base, but I do think he has done just about all he can so far.

agreed. we have so many people bashing the coaching staff right now even though nobody has seen what they can do on the field, or with a full recruiting season. what if CBJ and staff turn us around and land a huge class next year? you know these same CBJ haters are gonna jump on his d**k are praise him. they dont deserve the happiness of us winning or landing a big recruit

Guy, these sentiments exist in fanbases across CFB. Please refrain from centralizing it to our fanbase only. OSU fans bashing Bell if he picks UT. FSU fans bash Levenberry if he picks UT, AU fans bash Lawson if he picks UT, I can go on and on. It's not exclusive to us.

We ain't special BigAl. It's like this at all major programs. You gotta remember it's easier to accept rejection when you have them lined up like Bama, OSU, GA, FL etc. But when you lose out on a majority of them it hurts more. Not saying the freakin out it right but it is what it is.

I don't go to other sites, have no desire to do so. So that does not matter. Everyone freaking the F*** out acting morons is a concern. It does have a impact believe me. Ask Arian, Da'Rick or even Mz.Terry. It doesn't do anything but hurt this University and I have a right to voice my opinion if you like it or not.

Nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. I'm not sure why you think this is exclusive to UT though. Any time you get a large group of people together who are passionate about something, you're going to get that sort of thing. It's not any worse at UT. UT fans just have just been disappointed a lot more over the past few years compared to most of the schools we recruit against.

Anybody can get behind a keyboard, this is not just a tennessee problem it's a internet problem. I agree with big al but at the same time players and parents should take a message board with a grain of salt unless you personally know who you are talking too. To be fair to UT or any other school players and parents have to realize that you cannot equate a sports message board to the school, like I said earlier anybody can go to any site and spew venom to make a school look bad. Nobody should take post on any board too seriously. GO VOLS!

Who said anything about other sites? I surely didn't. I'm saying that you can't collect a "snapshot of poster responses in a 10 min period" from this site and generalize to the entire VOL fanbase. That's exactly what you did.

I never said it was exclusive to Tennessee. I said I don't give two shat balls what happens at other schools. When Mz. Terry reads this crap do you think it gives her warm and fuzzes? Hell no I bet she cringes and gets pissed off. Same would happen with any other potential recruits parent or players parent. Sometimes we as fans are our own enemies.

I gotcha. When you say UT doesn't deserve him that's kind of implying that the same thing wouldn't happen with other fanbases. It's not a UT problem. It's just probability. You get this many people on one site, you're gonna have all kinds of personalities.
