13' GA S Vonn Bell (Ohio State signee)

I remember randolph when he came out, very versatile safety, he played all over the field in HS. Von Bell plays all over the field as well. What makes Bell so special is scheme diversity. He has closing speed, solid tackling ability and the hips to play both safety positions and corner. You can do alot of different things with him.

Is he a good at everything or superstar at one thing kind of player? Example Hines ward outs Georgia to ...well any superstar wide receiver

I think a secondary lineup of these following players can play winning football sooner rather than later:

CB: Gray/Orta
CB: Bonner/Bell/Thomas

FS:Coleman/Randolph/Bell
SS: McNeil/Randolph/JRM

Not sure Bonner will be around. I guess Butch Jones will have a decision on him if the guy is even still in school. Dooley indefinitely suspended him last season. Anyone know if Bonner has been taking classes?

VQ guys said him and Phillips are still going to class, no decisions been as CBJ has been busy with other issues. Hopefully Bonner get his shat together and we keep him around, baller

I want a good freshman to take the 3rd OLB spot if possible. I want Bynum and C.Harris to develop. Sapp needs to be a nickel backer. Brewer = No Comment......

If we keep Campbell, he needs to start IMO. You see his new film in his thread? Dude looks like Vernon Davis flying around the field but at LB. Lol

I hope we keep Philips too we need all the Dlineman we can get.

I think they both get another shot with CBJ. New coaches generally give clean slates with stern warnings as to what will happen with anymore shenanigans. I hate Cam Clear stole computer equipment when he did. Could reallt use his depth at TE right now.

He has superstar potential at safety but he would probably be considered a solid to good prospect at corner.

So you'd be ok with having him on the team if he had stolen it later?

After hearing Bells coach on the local sports talk. Sounds like Bell has his mind made up and should let it out of the bag shortly after Saturday.

Vonn at CB? I'm for it. Anything to get him on the field---has a nose for the 'ball---playmaker.

CB-Bell
S-Randolph
S-McNeil
CB-Coleman

I think he could be a superstar at CB too. Hitting ability at CB would really drive his status up.

I know you love those physical CB's... But we only need one J. Coleman...

Unless we switch to cover 2 exclusively, give me a cover corner over a physical one all day long (finding both attributes in a single player is extremely rare)

Any vols living in GA can watch Bell on GPB I believe at 5:30 against D1 competition in sandy creek. Get to see him against kitt and wiggins.

Coleman needs to be playing FS next season.

Coleman @ CB by default. The prob I have w/ Coleman, he doesn't get his head around and needs to improve his hip movement but he has the experience. Gray (hopefully he can get this playbk dn) or Bonner (if he's still around) would be better. Tito too, although w/ his size I could see him playing some S as well.

Coleman either can get his head around or move to FS. I personally want every player on my defense being physical. There's no such thing as a field CB and boundary CB to me in a tackling sense. I can make a "Cover CB" tackle. I wouldn't go after a CB that can't run though. Guys like PWagg would never be offered regardless of scheme.

BB youre starting to crack me up. You've been saying "Coleman needs to be starting at CB" all year. And saying "Coleman with another year of experience will be a SEC CB." Now...."Coleman needs to be playing FS next season." :eek:lol: Make up your mind dude!!

I like to look for your posts on DBs since its what you claim you played and currently teach, but when you make multiple definitive comments that don't line up with each other your word loses its strength.

So, explain why you think Coleman should now be playing FS next year, please. :peace2: :salute:

This may be the negavol in me but if vonn grew up loving the vols than I could not see him going to Alabama no matter how great CNS is. He should want to beat CNS and I hope he does just that. This guy is one of those that will be great anywhere because of his attitude and athletic ability. Hope to see him in orange

Arrogance maybe?

There are about 25 cb's off the top of my head in the last ten years of the NFL that weren't physical...and no coach along the way could make those "cover CB's" tackle.
