He's a pretty good open field tackler.. But the technique they play at CB is terrible

Haven't seen that hopping ish in a while. He also sometimes sits up when he is backpedaling.

Yea his pedal is high. and that hop is a terrible idea, looks like he's just bailing out which is giving up any bit of intermediate to short routes and just baiting for a double move

That squat technique was probably put in by his hs coach to keep guys from getting ran up on while their still in their back pedal, but i don't see the benefit from opening your hips like that..

he is def. exaggerating the read shuffle and it works much better if you stem to it...but they are in cover three during these plays...and a read shuffle is very common even in collegiate ball (however not to the extent they are doing it)

the intermediate route isn't going to be defended by a cover three corner with a twins set...

and it is very beneficial to open your hips in zone...first it helps you to be in a better position to read the play...and you can break better from that stance (as opposed to bicycle break)

I'm still trying to figure this out myself. I'm going to try and watch some more film of him here soon. I've only watched his youtube stuff.

I just watched the youtube highlights. If anything, he looks like a FS. Based on the film, when he played CB he was never in press coverage or in tight on his man. The few times he was in man-to-man, he gave the WR a lot of room to work, and his backpedal, or lack thereof, wasn't convincing in terms of his potential agility. To me (not a scout by any means), he looks like a pretty good hitter/tackler who likes to be in space. He looked like he wanted to read the play while in space and go make a play. Maybe he has better film as a CB out there somewhere.

He's high as hell on some of his drops at safety.

there are a few cb prospects that have almost no film in man coverage...either their h.s. doesn't run man or they didn't fare well... (r.white comes to mind)

I think Miles is a quality recruit...but I hope he camps here so the coaches can plug him into one on one's and better evaluate his db skills

This is exactly why M. Alexander is such an important recruit...he does have impressive film that displays his cover skills...

I'm confident Myles Jr. would have been an All-SEC safety. He was that good of a talent. Never had his head on straight though.

+1000. If this kid has Myles Jr. type talent you take him all day any day. Darren definitely had All-SEC talent.

Heading into the UNC trip, Miles listed Tennessee as his favorite school. At the very least, this past weekendÂ’s visit has forced him to consider making a verbal commitment.

“I think I’m close to making a decision, because I’ve been to the campuses I wanted to see,” Miles said. “I could make a decision sometime this week or it could come in a few weeks.”

I have a hard time believing UNCs visit is better than ours. But they have now gotten this guy and q Davis after we led.

Granted q Davis may have been about PT after Patterson committed

But still what's the deal??

And don't give me well we are losing bc unc ain't been too hot. Plus the punishment

I personally don't feel sore about this. Good luck to the kid.

You guys should consider that he was no longer a take for us. We are in on some stud safety prospects. Maybe he wanted to commit somewhere early, but our coaches told him to not commit right now to us. JMO.

Feeling I had as well. He was a tweener that was somewhat of a fallback option. Good school for him though.

Yea.. OCI is saying since Miles shut it down early and committed to UNC after clearly stating that Tenn. was his leader means the coaches didn't want to take his commitment because we are in on higher safety prospects atp.

But hopefully one will be committing sooner than later because VN is craving for a commitment..

I thought he may be a fallback option, as well. I think this is good news as to where we stand with VB and the other safety recruits. I feel a Vonn Bell commitment coming on...maybe he is a silent already to the coaches. I am guessing that maybe he will publicly commit to us after the O&W game. What do you think, BB?
