'13 GA QB Josh Dobbs (UT signee)

Why would we need 4 Qb? Are you planning for the Starter and the backup and the backup to the backup to get hurt? And most teams have 3 Qb or 4 of different classes.......I dare you to find 2 Qb in the same class on any sec team.

Two freshmen redshirt and spend season conditioning with Coach Dave and learning the offense with Coach Jak..not including High but he benefits too...ask Notre Dame and USCw if they worry about too many qbs...get em in and involved and keep getting every year...Bama's mentality

What a completely idiotic thing to say. Happens all the time

Lol. How did I miss this gem of a post? I dare you to actually do a basic Google search on it. Happens a lot.

If memory serves me correctly, we had to true freshmen when Peyton was at UT. Kid named Brandon Stewart was rated higher than Peyton. Ended up transferring to A&M I think. Turns out Peyton worked harder and learned the playbook.

Stewart was not ranked higher

however in 94 UT did give 4 QB's playing time with 2 going down to injury. In 2004 we needed 3 just to finish the season

Update on Dobbs

ASU QB commit likely to flip

Arizona State is relatively set at the quarterback position for the next few seasons with Taylor Kelly and Michael Eubank both on the roster. The Sun Devils also expect to add ESPN 300 quarterback Josh Dobbs (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) on national signing day. Dobbs will have multiple options once he eventually sits down to sign his letter of intent. Options that now include Clemson and Tennessee.

"Clemson is apparently hedging their bet against the possibility of Asiantii Woulard picking UCLA, and are making a late attempt at QB Josh Dobbs," a source told Rumor Central. "While Dobbs is currently committed to Arizona State, he had what some close to him call 'an incredible' official visit to Tennessee over the weekend. Tennessee head coach Butch Jones and Arizona State head coach Todd Graham were expected for in-home visits Tuesday. If Clemson is able to get Dobbs on campus, then it likely means he has an offer from the Tigers.

"Stanford is also rumored to me making a push for Dobbs to play football and baseball, but the football team decided to pass on an offer. As it stands, the Volunteers might be the team to beat, but things are definitely heating up for the ESPN 300 QB."

Dobbs is ranked as the nation's No. 4 dual-threat quarterback and would be a perfect fit in Butch Jones' spread system.

Locking the door to QB meetings so Stewart was late didn't hurt either. Also, told Stewart he didn't want to look at film, then spent hours in the film room. Don't take my word for it, I read this in Peyton's book, "Manning", by Peyton, Archie, and John Underwood. Good book if you haven't read it.

Sorry if already answered and I assume it is a yes, but will Dobbs play both if he comes to Tennessee?

Think about what you just said there, this is the kid who came in and threw a pick on his first pass against Vandy. and he did just awesome last year. not trying to bash JW, but he was not better than bray this year come on.

I'm sure he thought about it. Both picks Worley threw in that game were completely on CP running the wrong route. Not every interception is on the qb.

The INT was on CP and him running the wrong route. He did just fine as a FR when he was forced to play VS the better teams on the scedule when Tyler went down. He did not get a chance in 2012. He was 8 out of 10 passing in the Vandy game WHEN given a chance. Much better than Tyler was doing.

i bet all the Asantia woulard fans are feeling pretty but hurt. I wonder what his dad is saying about this lol

he did not do just fine as a freshman - that is just factually incorrect - he was 45.5% passing, 156 yds per game, 0 TD's, 3 pics in 2 SEC games he played - and it wasnt against bama and lsu it was against a solid SC defense but a very shaky arky defense

that is not just fine - im not saying we should cut the kid but he didnt play well at all when he got his shot

Well even when Bray was playing in 2011 UT's offense wasn't setting the world on fire, so Worley's struggles were not just his fault.

I think Worley will be fine when given the chance and probably starts the season, but Peterman or one of the freshmen may really show out and if so that is great.

No he didn't. Against SC he missed a wide open Da'Rick for a touchdown that would have put us up 10-7 and when we got the ball inside the 10 later in the game we couldn't do anything. He was awful his freshman year.
