#OleMiss LB de-commit Mario Mathis has received several handwritten letters from the #Vols & has interest from #UCF & #Samford

Ole Miss rescinded his committable offer after knee injury
“They said it was strictly because of the leg,” Fletcher said. “If he comes back 100 percent, then they said he would be back on the recruiting board.”

I watched his Jr film yesterday & thought it looked good. But I'm no talent evaluator so.

He has the measuarbles for ILB.

I would have no problem adding a kid like this and letting him grab a RS his first season to take advantage of the new facilities, weight room, rehab etc.

The AJC article indicated that he played on it a little bit because it was misdiagnosed. I don't know if that causes a longer rehab or makes a recovery less likely.

he could be a good future Jack Linebacker since he played DE in high school, but I agree that he also has good size for an ILB too.

i say yes becaus with the lack of depth on the inside i say we would. Mathis with his size would be a good ILB, he will probably redshirt though to devlope.

He left campus a bit ago and Mathis was really impressed with Tennessee. He liked the practice and getting to hang with the coaches and really liked coach Sal.
Tennessee hasn't offered and is waiting to see his film after this season because of his ACL tear last season. Tennessee will continue to remain in contact with him. He will be able to go 100 percent in his team's fourth game of the season. We'll have the full story later.
