Johnny O'Neal Highlights 1 - Rivals.com Video

O'Neal's play speaks for itself. The physical linebacker was an imposing force for the West Laurens defense in 2009, accounting for 115 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and six sacks. His physique makes a statement as well. At a powerful 6 feet 2, 230-plus pounds, O'Neal is every bit the presence a coach looks for out of his inside linebacker.

"Physically, he's a man-child," Smith said. "The only thing you can really say is that he's a freak of nature. I've never seen a 14-year-old freshman run through people. The kid was never scared from day one and he's turned into a leader. He's our play-caller and called all our signals for us."

As a freshman, he wasn't eased into the lineup. O'Neal started the first game of the season and finished that game with 21 tackles. It didn't take long for his leadership ability to match his production.
Seriously....

We need to go ahead & put our bid in(offer) now. CDD should be settled in by now, so let's get it!

This is just ridiculous. It should be illegal for somebody to be that physically gifted at 14.

Say Florida and South Carolina has already verbally offered...He also wants to play college football in the SouthEast. I think we should go ahead and join the party and offer as well. It definitely couldn't hurt.

You would be correct sir. The sooner we can get in the mix the better. His list will probably be huge by the time his senior year rolls around.

He is the real deal and a beast! UT and UGA invited him to Junior Days this weekend but he could not attend, will visit both during the spring. Kevin Smith in the article is former Knoxville Catholic Defensive Coordinator when they won '08 State Championship and Head Coach at West Laurens is Mark Pemberton.

His cousin is former GT WR and the recent first round selection Bay Bay Thomas.
