My point was that of the two main schools he is considering UT has the better coach at his position and by all accounts, they hit it off pretty well during his visit. Lawson is not your average high school recruit so I believe the things I've mentioned bode well for us....

One other thing, I am not your average VOL fan who thinks that what UT offers carries anymore weight than anyone else with most of todays young recruits.. In this day and age of 'what have you done for me lately' and 'instant gratification' UT, unfortunately, is lagging way behind...

Fortunately for us, Lawson does not seem to be like most recruits these days.

Will we sign him? I don't know. I just like our chances at this point..

So, if you are not the "average" vol fan, what separates you from the rest of us average vol fans? As a Vol fan myself, my pride in our University most certainly should separate us from any other school in the SEC, or the country for what it's worth. I understand where you are coming from. I don't pretend to hold any arrogance. But when it comes to selling our school to any recruit that wants to play DIV1 ball you can only bet that CBJ is selling UT as the only option. I understand that in the eye's of recruits that we may be equal to other schools but we also should not sell UT's tradition short. We are so much more than any other school in the SEC. We have been and always will be (as long as cheeks is run out the door).

Spoke with Lawson's Speed and Agilty trainer tonight before my son's practice. He stated Lawson is a lock at AU. The Lawsons have made up with Garner and it is done. Said this weekend was a formality and the chance for Carl to help recruit others.

A source close to me (very good friends with Carl) told me today that Carl is REALLY serious about UT....about 60% as of this week. No guarantees, but that is the info I have received.
