'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

The writing was on the wall when Carl Lawson's dad called Ellis Johnson a genius or a defensive savant. Haven't heard a single recruit reference Jancek. If CBJ knows it takes a great defense to win in this league he should have hired a great DC.

A source also stated today that the ship has sailed for now with five-star defensive end Carl Lawson and Tennessee. Clemson folks do not feel good about their chances either-.....according to Shurburtt sources lol

Isn't Eric Thompson GT_09?

He may be and I am sure I am wrong. What would the odds be it is a guy I know from Memphis that is an AU grad having the same name post something like that? Weird though. It sounds moe like what a GT guy would say hoping for the best.

"A source also stated today that the ship has sailed for now with five-star defensive end Carl Lawson and Tennessee. Clemson folks do not feel good about their chances either, so heading into the official visit this weekend, my estimation is that Auburn, where has remained committed (remember his dad said there was a reason for that), is the clear team to beat."

That is very different than he eliminated us... Team sites will spin stuff in their favor....

That quote makes me feel better Shurburtt also had sources telling him that North was a UNC lock, when it comes to regional and national recruiting analysts I really don't trust their sources.

That is a lot different that eliminating a team

The article wasn't good for us by any means but it certainly didn't make me feel this is completely over.

He didn't say we have been eliminated

Sources also said North to Unc. Sailed for now meaning he didn't elimnate us.

if this is true, and Lawson has INDEED eliminated the Vols, you can look at it multiple ways.

1. Good young man, trying to do what's best for him
2. ****.

It was a long shot to begin with. Kudos to CBJ and staff for getting in on him. He's obviously a great talent and quality individual. Wish he'd been a Vol.
