'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

I'm gonna be honest. I quickly scroll until I see
"-Uzzi. "

Other than those, I haven't read a single post in this thread in three weeks. I am ashamed.

What are the chances a huge commitment lands for UT while Carl is at the barn visit.
It would be nice for UT to creep into his mind while he is on visit there.
Maybe that's what bell is waiting on.

You obviously don't know much about football. Your boy scout mentality is kinda funny. 'TN will be fine no matter what Carl decides.' This couldn't be further from the truth. TN is not fine, and a big part of that is our lack of superior talent like we once had. Have you seen our football team play over the last decade?? Do they look fine to you?!? They are not fine and it most definitely matters what Carl decides.
:lolabove:

You obviously don't know anything about football. This is a team game and one guy doesn't make the team. I've never seen a team win because of JUST ONE PLAYER. If you really expected a new coaching staff to come in, develop a relationship in month with an elite player who's being courted by almost every program in the country, and close on all of them, then you're out of your mind. The fact that he was able to identify a potential opportunity and get this far with so little time shows me that he's going to close on some great athletes in the future. SO YES TENNESSEE FOOTBALL WILL BE FINE.

So before you go taking shot at someone else, you better be aware of how little you actually know about football. Good day sir. :eek:lol:

We need Lawson but if he does not come we at least know we have worked our butts of to get him. You can't hold him at gunpoint and make him be a Vol.

With the exception of Scam Newton of course..
Just saying..

Has there been any hint of Uzzi really pushing lawson to us??

If he is who we think, its time for him to enfluence this kid on our behalf if he hasn't already given his all for Tennessee today!!!!

I think he just relays information that he knows. I think from what I can tell, Carl's one of those guys who trust his own decisions and maybe one or two other family have a small say in his decision making. Don't know how much influence Uzzi has.

Uzzi is a former Vol and a family friend. I doubt very seriously he would lean on Carl to a college to risk a friendship.

I'm of the opinion that anything can happen but we NEED Lawson. Green fine we all kind of had an idea that he was going to Michigan. Fact is, when you step away from the broader picture between Auburn and Tennessee we should be the obvious pick. Auburn is in worse shape then we are roster wise. We could have easily been 1 or 2 wins better but we had incompetent coaching. If Carl doesn't commit here life will go on---I can see both sides of the coin with these recruits as far as Tennessee. Butch hasn't proven a thing here yet, so I'm still maintaining we'll get a handful of the prospects we were after but until Butch gets the wins and a few "show me" wins then we ain't going to be the obvious choice with guys like this. Maybe I'm wrong and Lawson flips to us (and I hope he does) but we've still got a looong way to go.

If Tennessee can land a top 15 class(top half of the SEC) with everything that's gone on in the past few years, I really think that'll be a good indication of things to come especially with the coaching staff had little time. Its a good foundation and good building block for the future and thats all can ask for. Now next year if we aren't recruiting with the best of them like we use to, then we need to start being concerned.

Deep down Hubbs is a fan and he knows the signing day disappointment when going head to head V Auburn, so that is where his negativity. This is 50/50 and if he picks Auburn I will root for him every Saturday except on Nov the 9th.

I agree about cheering for this kids success.

I hope if this kid doesn't decide to be a vol that we don't focus on that as there is going to be a hell of alot of other big Booms that day to savor!!!

With the extended stars listed to visit Auburn this weekend, not counting Carl Lawson, I doubt he'll have a terrible time. Gus Malzahn, and staff, are about to close this class string. A complete 180 from last year's NSD (2012).
