'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

I feel for the young man. I'm glad he has a great Father to guide him through this process. That being said, I hope he does realize he will be able to get some incredible advice from "The Peyton Manning." Can you imagine a film session with one of the best of all time. Someone that has spent more time in the film room than most. He would be such a great asset and one who could help guide him through a lot of the smoke and mirrors that most of these coaches are throwing his way. We all know what he would be able to do here at Tennessee. He and Carr would disrupt any offense and if we got Vonn to go along with them this defense would be a force from the get go. No smoke screen here, Carl. We need you and the coaches at UT are "REAL" and they have a passion for Tennessee and getting us back on the right track. With you, Bell and Carr here the BIG ORANGE CRUSH would be back in full effect.

This would be the start of something really amazing in Knoxville. We just need one to pull the trigger and I think the rest will sign.

Since Uzzi said that Lawson de-committed from them privately over a month ago, is it that far of a reach to say that he might commit to his new team in the same fashion? Just wondering, as it seems that the kid is not a "look at me" type. Any chance that's happening/happened? I understand if you can't comment for obvious reasons. You could just give the Brent: "Me likey where we be", and I'll understand.

Thanks for all the info.

l see him later this week but I dont anicipate anything new untill after next weekend. He is not committed to anyone unless he is trying to be super secret.

I am excited he is considering Tenessee, and I know he likes many things about TN. Now I am just hoping for the best like all of you.

Most of the time, we can tell where a kid is going. It was pretty obvious that Green was choosing Michigan well in advance of his announcement. It's pretty obvious with most of our current commits that they aren't changing.

Likewise, it's pretty obvious where most of the big fish we're after are going. Lawson is almost certainly going to Auburn. North is almost certainly going to UNC. Bell is almost certainly going to Alabama.

Ford is harder to read, and I think Levenberry is almost begging for someone to convince him to come to UT. Regardless, we're going to have to accept that Derek Dooley did significant damage to the program that may take a while to replace. And most of the recruiting forum homers were eager to smack down any poster who suggested this just a few short months ago, just as it's very unpopular to point out that the guys who've actually committed since Jones became coach, for the most part, aren't SEC caliber.

I don't see how you can say any of those that you mentioned are ''almost certainly'' going anywhere at this point.

No point in you coming back on this forum then if you know where they are all going.

None of these players are even close to being commited to a school like green was. Heck green was more commited to Michigan than Lawson imo.

Lawson, Carr, Bell, plus add A.J. Johnson and Curt Maggitt and you're looking at some pretty stout studs on defense. Also, add in the DT's that we've recruited the past two years like Danny O'Brien, whom I'm hoping is a pass rushing machine, and our defense should change drastically.

@Niebuhr247 RT @CarlCarltp: too many opinions coming from too many places. but at the same time I don't now what to do. wish there was a 3 sided coin

Good luck to this young man, I really hope UT wins out in the end, this is an important decision to say the least.

Would really love to get Lawson... He has been so mature and well rounded, with great reasoning, in this entire process, I would be honored to have him on this team. I would love for CBJ to be his mentor and teacher for the next 3 or 4 years. I hope he sees this as well.

I also think our S&C coach who focuses not only on S&C, but speed and explosion as well, would make Lawson a monster in college..

Makes me think this kid might not have his decision by NSD.

That might not be all bad if that was the case.If we could finish strong on NSD and land some big players, it could help his confidence in our coaching staff. Ford, Bell, Levenberry, Trey Johnson come to mind...

I'm confused. Is that Carl tweeting that? I thought his twitter account was private?

It is private. Niebuhr from 247 retweeted it, that's how I saw it.

Good Luck Mr. Lawson.
Tough decision.

For what its worth we at Volnation need you here in Knoxville. A commitment from you would start the ball in motion and I truly believe that a number of other strong players will rally around you and kickstart a huge transition in the history of UT Football. You could be a huge part of starting that momentum.

Hope you choose the Vols! No matter where you go I think you will have fans here in Knoxville.
You are a class act young man and we appreciate that in an athlete.
Good Luck, God Bless, and Go Vols!
