'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

per Woody Womack-Rivals

The toughest for me right now is probably the nation's No. 4 overall player, Carl Lawson. Whether it's him or his coach speaking, no concrete information seems to be available. He canceled his planned trip to North Carolina, and now there are some questions whether he'll end up taking his official visit to Auburn, the school where he's still committed. If he does make the trip to Auburn, look for it to come down to the Tigers and Tennessee, with Clemson still trying to stay in the race.

It boggles my mind you took that as nothing but promising. Let's not forget Uzzi is not the only guy Lawson trains with and the other dude said he thinks Auburn over Tennessee 60-40, as quoted by someone here in this thread. I hope we get him like everyone else, but I would hope if he's as solid on UT as some think he'd have a little more positive to say than the weight room is nice.

Sorry I never saw that he just liked the weight room. Must have missed that somewhere. Guess Clemson is worried their facilities and Campus sux and AU is worried their tradition, facilities and coach's suck. Wow...He still has time to find a school where he has favorites of all of those at
1 school.

Not one bit. I didnt read anything in that that says its bad news. Sounds promising to me. Every player has favorite things he likes over the other finalists.

Maybe I am way off here but I would think "Coaches" would play a huge part in where a kid goes. I just can't see a kids list playing out like this.

What I look for in a school:

1. Fancy juice bar in football complex.

2. Treadmill I can plug my Ipod into.

3. Playing time.

4. Friendly Campus.

5. Good Coaches.

If what has the kid interested in Tennessee is the facilities, I would not put money on this one.

We get our hopes up. Then we go awhile without a commit. Later, a player that we thought was going somewhere else doesn't "shock the world" but apparently does Volnation by going where we thought he was all along! The demons start whispering in our ear that we are doomed. We then start fighting among ourselves. Calling each other stupid, clueless etc. All the things we wouldn't dare say to someone's face but the anonymity of the internet give us cyber courage. Just another day in Volnation.

I never heard him say he didnt like our Coach's. Say your two favorite candy bars are butterfinger and Reece's. But you like Reece's a tad better. Does that mean you now dont like butterfingers?

I don't think it's that Lawson is necessarily down on our coaches, but that he is favoring Clemson's. That should come as a surprise to no one considering how long he has had to form a relationship with our coaches compared to the like of Clemson.

Also dont they say dont committ to coach's but to a school? The school, facilities, atmosphere and everything will always be there. You never know who your coach is gonna be.

What I'm tryin to say is to compile all of the information we have about him, not just what you choose to believe. But whatevs....

Great minds and all that

Are you ten? Whatevs..Thats exactly what I did. Your told not to committ to Coach's but a school. But you obviously arent old enough to know alot about recruiting yet but as you get older you will. Stick with little dude.

Nice! You're a really cool older person! Maybe I'll just read all your posts and agree with everything you say! Will that make me a cool old person like you? I just learned how to press the on button on the computer the other day so stay patient with me please!

Im sure that made his day from a kid who uses whatevs to express his disagreeing on something. Great minds indeed.

You seem really butt hurt and I'm not sure why. Listen up volnation, don't disagree with the all intelligent and apparently old jasonvol, he will dismiss your opinion and call you a kid repeatedly.

Kids should commit to a school and not coaches, but if you believe that kids don't ever commit to coaches you're wrong. By your own admission they should commit to the school, and Lawson says he likes Auburn's campus the best, but you can ignore that too.

Don't get me wrong, I want Lawson. And I believe we have a chance. I just read that quote more negatively than others, when combined with what his other trainer said and that his dad drove himself to Auburn last weekend for his own little recruiting trip.

Lmfao, dont be so sensitiveand grow a pair. Its sweet that you let me hurt your feelings though. I will be nice to from now on. Sorry sweetheart.

Kids are also told do not take money or gifts from schools. Think they listen? Recruits commit to coaches ALL THE TIME and will continue to do so. Saying they are not supposed to will not stop it.

Being an ass can from the young and old.

Unfortunately I'm a lot older than I want to be, but write something silly or facetious and I'm branded a kid. That's cool though, I kinda feel reborn...again. So since jasonvol is obviously a senior citizen, you should amend your post to '...from the two old guys'

Bro do you just think up stuff and type it. Committing shouldnt be about one thing but the entire body of work. If you like more things about AU then go there, UT then be z Vol. Its all I am saying. Plus those comments were never heard from Lawson himself so who really knows.

Here's a thing people don't understand. Players want to win games. And most don't see UT as the big Juggernaut it was. They grew up in the mid 90s by time they knew UT it was the 2000s and we were not great then.

Lulz at the freakout in this thread. "Oh noes, Lawson loves our facilities and tradition but also finds certain aspects of other schools appealing too! Uzzi, the guy whose nuts we all swing off of, says he thinks he is ours to lose! We're doomed I tell you! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!"
or, ya know, Whatevs brah.
