'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Where is Kermit when you need him?

Come on team, let's hold it together. And please, if you are going to post freak-out material, then make sure it is reliable information. For those of us fools who are checking online about every 5-10 minutes for a scrap of news in hopes of a new commit, you are killing us. It could be worse, at least you didn't post this in the Hot Recrutiing News forum.

The sucky part is, people(media mostly) keep asking him the same thing and he has to keep giving the same answer because he has no intentions of spilling the beans until he's ready. They ask over and over where he's going and he keeps saying he's still committed to AU. It starts sounding like he's leaning to the barns but he's actually just politely saying f*** off, I'm not changing my story until I want to.

Sounds like a load of crap, but the fact that he still considers himself an Auburn commit isn't.

Certainly looks like the Vols may miss out on all of their highly rated uncommitted prospects, and may lose their best committment to Alabama.

Come on friend, be positive! It also looks like the Vols may hit on many of their highly rated uncommitted prospects and may hang on to Carr. We'll all know all the answers soon enough. Keep the hope man!

Or we might get Lawson, Green, North, Levenberry, Alexander, Morris and Bell. :)

Why would he decommit until he announced another team he chose to commit to? He's still visiting Auburn. So unless he's truly opening his recruitment up other than 3 teams, no reason to change his status to soft commit.

I hope so. Guys like Lawson are what turns a program around.

But everyone wants to give Jones a pass for this class regardless of its outcome, complete with a laundry list of reasons why he should be excused.

Personally, I think the best judge of a person's capabilities is how they perform when the deck is stacked against them, not just how they do when everything is in their favor.....I say that because all I hear on this forum are excuses for Jones and why it's unfair to judge him based on this class, and how next year should be awesome with all the legacy players, best in state class in a decade, full year to recruit, etc.

I have no problems with people forming opinions based on this class, but why not wait and see what the class is before forming an opinion.

I think it's fine to judge the man this year as long as we keep it real. VN doesn't seem to have much middle ground. All one way or another. I think if he gets top 20 that will be outstanding, anything better is gravy. If your expecting top 10 or else that's unrealistic and setting us up for failure!!! JMO

Valid point, and one that I didn't mean to discredit. But most of what I've seen here is pre-signing day excuses for Jones.

You don't consistently land great recruiting classes, you don't win in the SEC.
