NOT to be a sour sally, and obviously I hope that we flip Lawson... but ONE thing that did jump out to me was that, in his comments from the weekend, he said something to the effect of, "I got to see how big the city really was." When interviewed before, or it may have come from his father, but it said something along the lines that Lawson liked a "quiet, small town atmosphere," which is more suitable to his personality. Just my two cents, because I DO think we land him, but his view on K-ville might not be a good thing.

I get the impression that Carl Lawson is a very analytical type of guy. I don't think he is one to be all ra ra. I don't think he relies on emotion to make decisions. I think he'll go home and discuss things with the parents and make a decision. I don't think him going to Auburn is all that big of a deal as he may take the visit out of courtesy (who knows?). Is this too FBI profilish of me?
I bet I can count on one hand how many times I've heard Knoxville being referred to as the big city. Alpharetta is all but an Atlanta suburb.
I have to believe it was tongue-in-cheek. Not disrespectfully, probably, but you can't live that close to Atlanta and think Knoxville is big.
Knoxville does not compare in size to the Atlanta area, but how about comparing it to the environs of Auburn or Clemson?
hes been to auburn numerous time i would think he has seen all he really could. I think him visiting there is bad for us. but he may just want to see the staff and if he doesn't like them than its great for us.
"They have this thing called the video room, and it's the greatest studio I've ever seen," Lawson said. "It had every player -- every great player in their history. It had highlight clips of them doing one-on-ones from back when they were in practice. I was in there for like three hours straight. I watched all the pass rushers like Reggie White. It was fun. It's the best thing I've seen."
Standout offensive tackle Antonio Richardson was his player-host.
"He's a big guy," Lawson said. "He was real cool. Me and him get along. Like me, he loves to work on his craft. He's real devoted."
"It was a great visit," Lawson said. "I liked the facilities and the history there. Everything was top notch."
I visited Auburn and Clemson when looking at colleges 10 years ago, I thought the actual campuses were similar architecturally speaking, both were a bit flatter.
I didn't spend a ton of time in the area outside either campus, but both seemed very rural to me. Much more rural than Knoxville.
Maybe not for a 18yo who wants to enjoy a college town.
At my age I would enjoy Knoxville more.
