'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Im sold on whatever he says then. Hes beyond close to the situation.. may as well be an extension of the Lawsons. Gbo.

I have 3 weak connections that rarely know much, in a timely fashion, so I depend largely on what I find here. I'm so old that the good sources I had have retired or died off. I watched a bit before I joined in, trying to learn who was credible. Ron is on my list. Uzzi also. I wish Ron or someone would provide a cheat sheet for us out of the loop, so we wouldn't waste our time or be mislead. Also, there are a few credible posters who are fans of other teams but most are trolls.

What really blows is the amount of people who jump on VQ and VN and ask "What's the latest on so-so?" When they get the information, then they start questioning grammar, spelling, and legitimacy of the source. You just can't please some people.

My favorite: "Hubbs really went out on a limb there, didn't he?" Most of these things come across as common sense because Hubbs has already put the info out there previously.

Most have too much time on their hands probably getting a govt. check sitting in front of a computer all day.

If his father's conclusion that this won't go until signing day... there is a decent chance that he could commit to Tennessee following the visit this weekend. Since his Auburn trip is so close to signing day I would say he either takes this visit fully committed to Auburn or doesn't take the trip at all.

My thoughts exactly

This is good logic.

Let's be smart about this. Lawson's father stated on the visit to Florida Carl said didn't like how far away it was and wants to stay 3-4 hours away. I google mapped the schools from Kennasaw, GA.
Tennessee: 3hrs
Clemson: 2hrs
UNC: 6hrs 30mins
Ole Miss: 6hrs
Auburn: 2hrs 15mins
LSU: 9hrs

So if we are going based on distance and what we already know it is a Tennessee vs Clemson battle with Auburn in the mix. If he watch the national championship he knows it isn't a good idea to pick against the SEC.

Actually I live in Kennesaw, and Lawson lives way out east in Alpharetta which is about an hour from Kennesaw. And I've made the trip to Knoxville many, many times in my life and it has never taken 3 hours. I almost always get there within 2 hours and 20 minutes without speeding.

Here's the turning point....If the staff can sell him on being a Vol & convince him NOT to visit Aubby after he comes in next week, He's ours. If he comes in & still visits Aubby, then we have reason to worry. Let's pray CBJ can seal the deal with Pops & son this weekend.

The news from dad that this isn't going to NSD sure does bring the possibility into play that this thing ends after this weekend. IMO it's over on Monday one way or the other

Agreed. he wants to help build a class and I think a commitment to one school will help to solidify other recruits and drive some recruits toward committing to the school he picks imo. Luckily things are looking like he could be a vol. Dee Liner decommits. Jenkins commits to us. Father likes us.

I may be over thinking things as well.

I believe our chances are very slim. Auburn still has the inside track, and they now have Rodney Garner who is very good at reeling them in.

Hope they sale him on this class being built on him. Lawson, Carr,& Bryant would be a huge boost to the D-line.
