'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

Hey, I've got an idea. Let's ridicule any poster that brings info to board into oblivion. That way they'll not bring any info in here at all. Yea that'll show'em!

Too bad, people can't just take information and accept it or not accept it and move on.

I hate when probing type posters who are looking for who knows what runs these types of posters off and ruins it for those of us who like to hear additional information when it's available.

and what does it gain anyone?

The news of this Not going to signing day is huge. He visits auburn just days before so it seems very probably this is over before that visit.

Messageboard culture is an interesting phenomenon. Some people post opinions just to stir up controversies, some people post false information to get some kind of personal laughs as they whip posters into a lather, some people claim (rightfully or wrongfully) to be insiders with special knowledge, some people get really angry when "insider" information is false or proves to be inaccurate, etc. All in all, it is a really nutty thing but I keep coming back because I am overly obsessed with the Vols and this is the best way to get Vol athletic knowledge, in spite of the flawed information being thrown around by some posters at times.

This is my two cents: some "insiders" have decent information but we need to realize that things change and change quickly, especially in recruiting. I appreciate the efforts of those who actually try to bring unique insight to the board, even if it proves to be wrong ultimately, because that is what these forums are all about (trying to get information that is not readily known to the non-forum folks). Otherwise, it would just be a bunch of people like myself who have no connections, etc., discussing Rivals articles and conjectural opinions. If you don't like changing landscapes of information or the occasional outright fiction, I would suggest you stop reading any internet forums, especially regarding recruiting, with access to it by posters from the general public. If you can handle it, read everything with a grain of salt because (a) recruits are teenagers and things change with them all the time and (b) some times people fabricate things for fun.

Personally, I think Uzzi has provided good information so far (i.e., not trolling) and the personal attacks are counterproductive. I sure hope Lawson wants to be a Vol as badly as the fans want him to be a Vol.

AJC article said the 26th for Auburn. Maybe he see all he needs to see this weekend.

I haven't been this excited to see how a recruiting class finishes since Kiffin's hire leading up to the Bryce Brown saga. CBJ and staff appear to be doing a phenomenal job with so little time, and Ron's doing a phenomenal job bringing the info. Thanks, Ron.

Regardless of how it finishes, it's fun to watch!

Well said, although someone will probably bash you for it.

I will be the first to admit, I really have no clue when it comes to recruiting. I have followed it for years, but since I don't work for the school or know anyone who knows anyone when it comes to recruiting, I'm clueless. I for one appreciate the information provided by Uzzi...thru....Ron. I also appreciate any informed information provided by anyone else on VN. As stated before, recruiting can change on a daily basis, and what is correct today may not be tomorrow. It does not in anyway mean it was bad info. "Take it for what it's worth" means exactly that. People that feel they have to bash someone for good info on a msg board are nothing more than losers who feel they need to drag everyone else down with them.

Just my two cents worth and all you negalosers can feel free to flame away at me all you want.

Thank you Ron for sharing Uzzi's info with us.

What really blows is the amount of people who jump on VQ and VN and ask "What's the latest on so-so?" When they get the information, then they start questioning grammar, spelling, and legitimacy of the source. You just can't please some people.

My favorite: "Hubbs really went out on a limb there, didn't he?" Most of these things come across as common sense because Hubbs has already put the info out there previously.

I'm checking to make sure you spelled everything right and used proper punctuation and grammer.

What I normally find telling about these situations is that, generally speaking, the "insiders" are normally guys who have been on the board for a good bit and have a decent track record as an all around poster. The guys that bash them are normally relatively new to the boards with a low post count or are one of those guys who has been here 3 months and already has 3k posts. Its interesting to see the disparity between different types of posters in regards to this specific situations.
