From the information posted on here, the rumors seem to suggest that (1) Auburn has lost traction with Lawson because of the coaching changes, including the addition of Garner, but Lawson is a loyal guy who may want to honor his commitment, (2) UT has some momentum because people close to him (friends, father, trainer, etc.) appear to favor the Vols and Thigpen, etc., are great recruiters, and (3) Lawson finds Clemson appealing for a variety of reasons and the school has proven dangerous recruiting 5* kids recently. I do not claim to be an insider and I think this one is still much in the air but I like UT's chances and I think we get him at the end but it is certainly touch and go.

Tennessee may not lead for him but if you watched the interview with him last night on Inside college football recruiting on CSS, I would be shocked if he ends up at Auburn. They asked him 5/6 direct questions about how solid his committment was, what he like about coaches, the school, potential playing time, etc. He never one time acknowledged he even still planned to go there. He answered every question about auburn with "every sec school has great coaches" or every sec school can offer me playing time. It was never auburn did or said this so thats why I'm going there. They pressed him on how solid his committ was and he wouldnt answer. He also said he was taking other visits but wouldnt say where other than clemson this weekend. He did say he was going to take other visit though

If you are taking an anonymous poster and what he says as any fact at all you are setting yourself up for a huge letdown on NSD. This has happened so many times. Poster X has a connection to a recruit and says its almost a done deal but strangely the kid barely if ever mentions UT. The board goes nuts, claims the services are full of it and believe Poster X.

Until Lawson steps on campus, ignore everything.

Also, this is just another reason why we should have brought in Hobby. He is an A+ recruiter and has put just as many kids into the NFL as Stripling, if not more.

Uzzi has been on VQ for over 140 months. He's not making **** up or trolling the fan base. What has been said is that we have Lawson's attention and we're fighting to pull him. We're going to have to fight really hard to sway him. That's the only guarantee.

His visit is the key. If we can prove to him the reasons that UT is a better place for him to be over AU and Clemson then we should be able to land him.

It sounds simple but the truth of it is CBJ is going to have to work like hell to secure this guy and the other recruits showing interest as of late.

Ok idiots, nobody ever said Carl was a lock to UT. Quit making stuff up. We chose to share info because we thought it would be appreciated. Carl has us in the top 3. What else do you want?

Per his dad UT is in the lead, it's recruiting things change all the time. Carl is as much comitted to AU as he is to TN...

Some of you try to find the negative in everything, how about you get excited that the best defensive player in the country is considering a 5-7 team based only on the job Jones and company have done.

That alone is reason to be excited for the future. You need to get life if that does not give you hope for the Tenn future under jones.

Go ahead a write off Lawson and any other kid visiting if it makes you feel better.

Exactly. Not once has Uzzi said Lawson was a Vol lock.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but while I don't quite understand the attraction of Auburn (been there before) or Clemson either over a Tennessee, there is a reason for the attention they've been given here. One, Lawson has remained an Auburn commit (so of course they aren't going out of the picture), and two, Clemson has won a bit here lately (granted, I still think they're an underwhelming program considering they can't go undefeated even in the ACC). I doubt money has anything to do with it. Lawson will choose the school that is best for him. I hope it's Tennessee, and I know we have more to offer in terms of fan base, facilities, and environment.

I agree, but posters that put this stuff out there need to have thicker skin as well. Every public message board has aholes, you have to understand you are going to deal with that going in. It goes both ways. Take OCI for example, he has been blasted on here but he still posts. I may not believe a word he says, but I will still respect him for continuring to post.

It may not even be someone that is a UT fan, just another troll in the message board world. That is the other factor, just a poster trying to run someone else off.
