'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

if you are talking to me Jay, no need. im cool with Ron. i was just having a laugh at private decommittment. thats not on Ron, just the guy who said it.

Private decommits happen all the time. Look at TJ Yeldon who waited till the dead period to where AU couldnt contact him and be an EE at Alabama. No telling how long he had been a private decommitt but didnt want to talk to AU coach's and tell them for some reason.

Is a private decommit where he is decommitted but didn't tell anyone?

His twitter feed on 247 is saying that LSU is trying to get involved.

I think they may be a lil late to da partay.

I would think LSU would look pretty good about now. I think just about their whole just announced they are going to the NFL draft. Would love to have Lawson as part of this class. When he can pick just about any school to go to, I just don't like our chances on getting him on NSD. Hope I am wrong!!

True, but I don't think Carl Lawson is like TJ Yeldon. Lawson and family are honorable people. I think if Lawson has decommited, he would have already told the AU staff and not wait for drama, which he avoids. That said, Lawson likes famiiarity and with Chizik and former staff gone, he is exploring options but has not ruled out sticking with AU.

Based on everything I have read on this board I would assume "decomitted" wouldn't be quite the right term for it.

Seems to me he is just seriously looking at his options and keeping Auburn as his fall back.

Because of where Auburn is at right now and how good Lawson is they really aren't in a position to not let him have his way and hoping he decides not to switch.

I talked to him yesterday and talked to Dad a few days before.

Carl does not claim a leader but really likes Clemson, likes the coaches, the town etc. What he does not like is the ACC and the fact he has to play a bunch of bad teams with no fans. That said, him pushing off the TN visit was not because of Jenkins but because Clemson is where he wanted to go this weekend to check them out further.

It is a good thing that Jenkins is going the same week as him to UT and I think it might turn out in UTs favor to go after Clemson. UT coaches much rather go after Clemson then before because Clemson puts up a good show.

He did say he is a lock for the visit to UT on the 18th, that no matter what happens at Clemson he will visit.

On to Dad, he told me UT is leading over Clemson and AU. I believe Carl will at end up asking for Dads blessing on where to go. Dad wants Carl to be a SEC star, not a ACC guy.

I still feel good about our chances, but I think Clemson is someone to watch. I don't think it will be AU even though dad said they will get a 2nd look.

Ole miss is pretty much out of it. LSU and FL are trying but are too far away.

Like Brent said before we have good momentum but Carl is just so hard to read and does not open up much. Keep your fingers crossed!

In summery: We are one of three left, logic tells us it should be UT, the fam prefers UT, Carl has still no idea. Isn't recruiting fun?

He choose the Clemson visit over us this weekend and moving the visit had nothing to do with Jenkins.

Very bad news. No other way to spin it. He is clemson's to lose.

I'm of the opinion that the only "very bad news" to come from Lawson will be the day he signs an LOI with someone other than UT.

This kids has held his info closer to the vest than just about any other recruit. Info is as cryptic as can be....

Clemson has done VERY well in recruiting. Don't know how. Lawson canceling to go see Clemson in my opinion should be a little bit of a concern.
